Prologue:
Today was my first Q of the 2020 Q Challenge. I’d only posted Catalyst once or twice and had never Q’d an hour long workout before. I saw the open slot and, inspired by the challenge, took it.
I had a rough workout plan by Friday evening when the news of Neil Peart’s passing reached me and I regrouped for a Rush tribute theme.

Warm Up:
-Mosey around to back parking lot, circle up
-Side Straddle Hops x20 In Cadence (IC)
-Good Mornings x10 IC
-Imperial Walkers x20 IC
-Sir Fazio Arm Circles forward x10 IC
-Sir Fazio Arm Circles reverse x10 IC
-World’s Greatest Stretch w/ Pigeon Pose variation
-Mosey down the stairs to the track/field entrance

Main Event:
-Jacob’s Ladder: Run back up the stairs, perform 1 Burpee, run back down to start (via the ramp due to crowd size). Repeato with 2 Burpees, 3 Burpees, … all the way to 7 Burpees.

Early JL finishers are to hold tree-hugging Al Gore position instead of Plank in honor of “The Trees”.

-Mosey to track. Lunge walk (mean, mean stride) from the entrance to the trashcan alongside midfield.

-21 single count star jumps on my up. This is part one of a 2112 Star(man) Jump tribute. No, I’m not making anyone do 2112 Star Jumps. If you can’t do it, don’t Q it, right?

– Red Barchetta:
-100 yd dash, 100 SSH, run back to start
-75 yd dash, 75 Mountain Climbers, run back to start
-50 yd dash, 50 LBCs, run back to start
-25 yd dash, 25 Merkins, run back to start
-10 yd dash, 10 Burpees, run back to start
Modified Red Barchetta due to size of crowd and crowd’s desire to stay off wet grass. Split group roughly in half. Take turns working our way through the Red Barchetta along the track on the far side of the football field. One group does a portion of RB while the other group performs exercises called/led by their own group (this was unplanned and a little rough. T-claps to Horsehair and others who stepped up and led the other group in their non-RB exercises). Also, “dash” was more of a “mosey”.

-Mosey back to track entrance. 12 Star Jumps on my up to complete the 21+12 Star(man) Jumps. This was the end of the fancy Rush theme.

-Mosey to basketball court and grab a rock. Reverse 15-10-15 pyramid (because I miscounted the first set) of biceps curls, overhead presses, bent over rows, triceps extensions, and rock LBCs. Return rocks.
-Mosey up stairs to back parking lot. Quick Feet x10, Curb Dirkins x10.
-Mosey to halfway to front parking lot. Quick Feet x15, Curb Dirkins x15.
-Mosey to front parking lot. Quick Feet x10, Curb Dirkins x10.
-Mosey to COT spot.

Mary:
Have a Nice Day.

COT:
26 PAX. MLK Convergence 1/20/20 at Ambassador, 5:30AM start. New challenge for 2020: Q 20 different workouts in 2020!
Geddy took us out. Very appropriate. And very good.

Naked Moleskin:
These Q Challenges have been great for me, and I encourage everyone to heed the call. I’m very satisfied to have completed my first 1hr Q. I enjoyed putting this workout together, although the reason for the theme not so much. Rest In Peace, Mr. Peart.
