A clear and brisk fall morning welcomed 18 PAX into the gloom for a beat down themed with a mix of Rocky Music and Moore’s home state of Michigan.

Warm up:
Jog along the track, stopping every 100m to do Peter Parkers, Goofballs, Don Quixote’s, and Willie Mays Hayes

The Thang:
The PAX circled up into a series of individual stations and rotated through each one tabata-style. Each station was performed for 50 seconds with 10 seconds to rest and rotate to the next station.

The stations included:
Blockee (Burpee with a cinderblock overhead press)
Large water pipe overhead press
Medium water pipe overhead press
Small water pipe overhead press
Side arm raises with bricks
Jump rope
Squat with cinderblock overhead
Jump squats
Front lunges
Merkin with a side twist while holding a brick in each hand

An inspirational mix of Rocky Music and Michigan themed music was playing during this beat down culminating in “Victory for MSU” the official fight song of Michigan State University.

As if this wasn’t enough, the PAX split up into 2 groups of 4 and 5’s and did a “100m slosh” relay with the LARGE water pipe while the remaining PAX did 20 Merkins and 20 Air Squats until their turn came up.

Mary:
Outbreak closed out with the song “Around the World” by Daft Punk. Simply, the PAX did a repetition of an exercise every time the phrase “Around the World” was sung. However little did the PAX know that the phrase “Around the World” is sung a whopping 144 times for each refrain. The exercises progressed through each refrain and encompassed: SSH (x2 refrains), Air Squats, and LBCs over a grueling 7:08.

COT:
WhatsApp for Communicating Cougar Ruck – talk with Homes about joining the list.
Pleasantville will be cancelled next Monday and folks are encouraged to meet at The Thicket instead.
