AO: Pony Express

Maybe it’s just me, but Pony Express is a tough workout. Hard running in quarter mile bursts is something I don’t look forward to. Every time I’d think about my pending Q, it was “Ugh.” Those ten pain stations are welcome respites.

Warm Up:
Give the mission statement, check for FNGs, give the disclaimer, and warm up:
Side Straddle Hop x20 In Cadence (IC)
Good Mornings x10 IC
Monkey Humpers x10 IC
Downward dog and isolated calf stretches

Main Event
1) Mosey to the greenway and RUN! The format is simple, run hard for a quarter mile and wait for the six. Do 2-3 exercises and keep going. The route is 2.5 miles (1.25 out, 1.25 back) so that’s 10 segments. YHC called a variety of exercises with a variety of reps (x10, x15, x20). In no particular order, with some repeats: Merkins, Diamond Merkins, Hand Release Merkins, Carolina Dry Docks, LBCs, Freddy Mercurys, Flutter Kicks, Squats (too many squats), Captain Thor (WW1+American Hammer, Jack Webb style)
