This is the first of a few backblasts that YHC is writing a month or so late as I got caught up in Snowbird’s March Madness Challenge and Backblasts got put on the Back-burner.

Tequila Sunrise is one of the few Raleigh AOs where Qs are determined not by sign up, but by posting the week prior and volunteering/being “voluntold” for the next week. YHC was expecting to be head to head with Boitano in the final round of Snowbird’s March Madness Challenge. I had shuffled my Q calendar accordingly a few weeks prior so that I could attend Tequila Sunrise on 3/18 (Boitano Q!) and grab the Q slot for 3/25, the final Thursday of the Challenge. I was a little thrown off because Boitano had been absent from Diver Down and The Blitz this week. Had he given up?

Warm Up:
Give the mission statement, check for FNGs, give the disclaimer, and warm up:
It’s been a month. We did stuff. I do remember trying to call cadence on Forward Fold, which got some laughs.
Mostly it was my standard warm up with Sun Salutation and Forward Fold thrown in.

Main Event
1) Rack Em Stack Em with alternating bear crawls and lunges between corners. 1st corner Merkins, 2nd corner Squats, 3rd corner Carolina Dry Docks, 4th corner Reverse Lunges. Unstack on the way back.
2) Mosey down to the ampitheatre stage for stretching. Leg stretches on the wall, Warrior 1, Warrior 2. Repeato on other leg.
3) Mosey to ampitheatre seating for a variation on the Yukon classic: L-R step ups, Irkins, Dips, Derkins, Elevated Homer to Marge. I can’t remember f it was just a set of 10 reps, or if we did a second round of 15 reps. We definitely didn’t have time for a full pyramid.

Mary:
Various Mary. Did I mention it’s been a month?

COT:
13 PAX
Franzia encouraged Quagmire to volunteer as Q for next week.
Prayers, including thankfulness from Banjo for everyone who helped Frey Daddy put on the MST 100 last weekend. Banjo encourages us all to help support others pushing themselves. Prayer’s for Dow’s family. Others I am forgetting. Cobains.
Somebody (Franzia?) took us out.

Naked Moleskin:
T-claps to our Carpex brothers Banjo and Pierogi for making it out.
Leading a few pseudo-yoga-ish exercises wasn’t as hard or as awkward as I thought. Jimmer might shake his head, but it’s a step closer toward leading Broga.
After the workout, Boitano tells me his family was on Spring Break and he couldn’t keep up without the non-traditional AOs to post, so March Madness was mine for the taking. Thank goodness, this has been taking way too much time. Later that day I happily sub out a couple of my Carpex Qs that I had on the roster and relax knowing I won’t have to triple down tonight.
This was my twenty-sixth #F3Q21 #2021Challenge Q. Next stop is Brick City on 3/26 (tomorrow).
