The title refers to my tardiness with this Backblast. I admire my F3 brothers who are so timely with their BBs…hats off to you guys!

Thanks to those who came out on the eve of my 39th birthday to start an early celebration. We did many sets of 39, perhaps my attempt to hold on to my 30s. Not sure if the workout helped or hurt my aging process. For the one member of the PAX who spilled Merlot, solidly on his knees, (who will remain nameless), I’m feeling like he may have aged a little bit extra. Despite his Merlot, he was in good spirits and all was well.

The Thang

PAX headed to the playground for 39 pull ups and more. We paired off, and each man completed 3 sets of 13 pull ups (totaling 39) with his partner, while rotating in and out of the other PAX who completed the following, over and over:

We were done when each many completed his 3 sets of 13 pull ups.

We moseyed back up to the fields for some cat and mouse with coupons, and more of 39. With the same partners from pull ups, the “cat” group started with 10 burpees while the “mouse” partners grabbed a coupon (either a ruck or cinder block – rucks could only be held in front – no use of straps allowed) and started running around both fields. When the cat completed his burpees, he had to start running and try to catch his mouse/partner (the man who spilled Merlot had Assisi as his partner, and he started as the Cat chasing Mouse Assisi…poor guy). Upon catching the mouse/partner, the cat then relieved his partner of the coupon and took off running, while the mouse completed 10 burpees, and tried to catch his partner again. PAX would plank upon completion of one full lap and wait for everyone to finish. Upon completion of the first round, PAX did Carolina Dry Docks x 39.

PAX started round two of the same as above, while only completing 5 burpees this time. PAX planked upon completion and then LBCs x 39.

Same as above for the third and final round, but with only 3 burpees.
