With rain threatening, 4 PAX ventured onto the hardened streets of Durham to test their mettle and prove they are worthy of wearing the yellowish jersey. That’s right, it was time for the annual (well, first) TOUR DE FLOYD.

Mosey to the quad

Floyd brought his mountain bike for the 3 stage event. The Thang: Everybody exercises while one cyclist attempts to bike as fast as possible around the ~1/3-1/2 mile track. The cyclist records his time for later. While the cyclist is cycling, the rest of the PAX cycle through some exercises, 40 reps then a 50 yard sprint. Each participant does 4 sets of exercises and one lap on the bike.

Stage 1:
McFlerkins x 40; 50 yard “sprint” and back
Russian Hammers x 40; 50 yard sprint
Carolina Dry Docks x 40; 50 yard sprint
Mountain Climbers x 40; 50 yard sprint

The cyclist with the fastest time (Iceman) got to do a victory lap while the rest of the PAX did punishment burpees

Stage 2:
LBCs x 40; 50 yard sprint
Jump Lunges x 40; 50 yard sprint
Quad Hoppers x 40; 50 yard sprint
Low Jacks x 40; 50 yard sprint

The new time was subtracted from first time to give a time differential. The cyclist with the best improvement (Seinfeld) got to do a victory lap while the rest of the PAX did punishment low slow flutters.

Stage 3:
McFlerkins x 40; 50 yard sprint and back
Russian Hammers x 40; 50 yard sprint
Carolina Dry Docks x 40; 50 yard sprint
Mountain Climbers x 40; 50 yard sprint

The cyclist with the slowest time had to do a lap of shame while the rest of the PAX mocked him (there was a tie Seinfeld and Iceman, Seinfeld lost on tie breaker). The number of seconds it took him to do the lap of shame (30) were turned into 30 penalty merkins for all.

Run back to the parking lot (Floyd rode the bike back, a perk of being the Q and the owner of the bike).

Mary: Skipped due to the PAX having to leave to drill some cadaver heads (for real).

Glad to see everyone out today. Hopefully we’ll get our numbers back up in the future.
We are going to continue Saturday, Tuesday, Thursday. No workout on Christmas, but otherwise, there will be blood, um I mean workouts the rest of the way.
