low 70’s, low-medium humidity and dark.

The Fellowship heat kicked off at 5:41 led by Howard.

The rest of the PAX showed up and took off at 5:45, led by Floppy Disk.

We all finished by 6:30, times ranged from 40:23 to 48:59.  I predict many finish times < 40:00 in the near future.

It was dark, there must have been ghosts because we kept tripping (not a reference to TD).  Many PAX brought headlamps out, while they provided light it was questionable whether they were helpful or not.

With the hills and the lighting conditions, this trail run is more of a mental challenge than a physical one.

tclaps to King David and Hufflepuff for a first time posting at the trail run.  Strong finish by both of them.

tclaps to Big Sproles.  Posting with new shoes and a headlamp, he twisted an ankle halfway through and ended up finishing strong.

tclaps to Maize for a UA5

tclaps to the PAX for making this a strong 10 man trail run today.  A record turnout.

  • The joys of trail running. We really should consider a different run or a different time. One thought is we could do the run backwards, that would give us more light in the trees.

  • Hufflepuff, Big Sproles and I might have been even a minute or two faster I hadn’t led them off the trail. Even with the headlamp I couldn’t find the trail a couple times. Thank goodness for the blue tags nailed to the trees every hundred yards.

  • I forgot to mention that we had 5 people trip and Ben Johnson shed some blood on the trail.

King David on his FNG TrailRun did great for the pace, but stumbled twice.

T2 and CK each had a non ground contact stumble.
