YHC decided to sign up quite a while back and put “Michigan” on the sign up sheet. It’s a workout YHC has led before and it is horrible. Great if you just LOVE sprinting back and forth on a field, but to most pax, it’s horrible. After trying to give a disclaimer with no respect from the crowd YHC gave up and got to work.
WARMUP – SSH x 20, Good Mornings (Slow) x 5, 20 burpees, 5 more Good Mornings just to make sure we were stretched out.
THE THANG
Head to the field where 100 yards is measured off.
Ten 100 yard dashes. Lunge walk to the next cone, 20 LBC’s 10 burpees.
Nine 90 yard dashes. Repeat this with 80, 70, 60 and so on. Some changes on the exercises, but really it was ridiculously repetitive and painful. YHC would just yell “Go” and we went.
A welcomed mosey back to the parking lot. Finished with Freddy Mercuries, American Hammers, Protractor, and 5 more burpees for good measure.
ANNOUNCEMENTS – Book study tonight at Tinkertoy’s house. Burpee Challenge in a few weeks (Similar to today’s workout, but with no running…same cones).
PRAYER REQUESTS – Mayhem asked for prayers for his pastor’s wife who is battling cancer. Footlocker is suffering a sprained ankle. CDC asked for prayers for all the kids away from families right now with camps…for them to be surrounded by encouraging influences. Finally, Coco asked for prayers for his cousins’ tough family situations.
YHC shared 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 where it encourages us that “this light momentary affliction is preparing us for an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison as we look not to the things that are seen, but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.” Encouraged the pax to focus on things eternal, not the temporary struggles of this world.
