15 PAX took the DRP and stood in the gloom wondering what we were about to do. Yeah, all 15 of us. YHC had heard the rains falling all night long and knew that a workout in the rain would do no favors to get rid of this months-long cold I’ve been battling. Thankfully, FOD has a couple decent shelters!

As soon as everyone got out of their cars, the rain stopped. But…but…the shelter! Whatever. I made a plan, I’ma stick to it. 2017 is a new year!

WARM UP

Jog a lap around the parking lot and circle up for SSH, Good Mornings, Windmills, and Merkins.

THE THANG

Lazy Dora Pyramid under the shelter. Partner up, then as a team, one PAX does the called exercise while the partner “rests” and flapjack until the called exercise is complete. Do the following as a team:

  • 100 Merkins, rest in Plank position
  • 200 Squats, rest in Squat Hold
  • 300 LBCs, rest with 6-in leg hold
  • 400 Irkens, rest in Plank
  • 500 American Hammers, rest in Hammer position sans twist
  • 400 Dips, rest in Plank
  • 300 LBCs, rest with 6-in leg hold
  • 200 Squats, rest in Squat Hold
  • 100 Merkins, rest in Plank position

That’s it.

MARY

NMS

  • It was good to get out this AM and put in some hard work. Those Dips just about tore my shoulders off. That last set of Merkins did damage. The squats were mean. It was all glorious.
  • Not a typical boot camp workout per se, since we didn’t run much, but I still think it was challenging.
  • Shut-In says to be ready to run tomorrow!
  • I think this is the type of workout that seemed easier than it was. You’re definitely going to feel this later.
  • I keep feeling like I have to defend what we did this morning because of all the junk talk I got from the PAX.
  • It’s too early in the year to be shook…but I’m already shook!
  • I appreciate the kind words from Wilbur though.
  • It always makes me smile when the mumble chatter gets so ridiculously thick that someone thinks it’s gotten too far out of hand and feels compelled to say something positive. That’s the level of mumble chatter that I invoke. And I’m very, very proud of that!
  • Good thing I get another shot this Friday! At the best AO in Wake County, no less.
  • I had the day off yesterday but the M had to work, so I was on Dad duty all day. The 2.0 is a boss at Diamond Merkins. Not even kidding. His mumble chatter needs work.
  • One of my New Year’s resolutions (and the only one, since I just now made it up) is to be more succinct with my BBs. So before I get to the 500 word mark…
  • See you in the gloom
