8 PAX came out to showcase feats of strength this fine Festivus morning.

YHC was still feeling a little beaten down by the first head cold of the season, and decided with a small crew it was time to bust out a modern classic, “the 2005.”

Warm-up

1-1/2 laps of the pickle, then circle up.  25x SSH, 10x GM, arm circles both directions/overhead claps/Moroccan night clubs

Thang

Mosey to the coupon storage area and grab two bricks/cores/whatever. Apparently our coupon stash has been found, and occasionally moved. Thanks Smokey for providing the headlamp so we could get on with our business.

All together, we would accomplish:

  • 100x squats (with coupon)
  • 100x merekins (no coupon, unless you really want to)
  • 100x flutter kicks (4ct IC, coupon overhead)
  • 100x upper body (curl / press / tricep)
  • 100x burpee (no coupon, though work continues at Bartman Labs to figure out how to incorporate them)

PAX were told that we would do rotations containing all exercises, but they could choose the count each round. ie, 10 each, 20 each, etc. The catch? After each rotation, we’d run a lap of the pickle.

Bartman started off calling 10, then Shkerelli called 20, and we ended up doing 20 for a few more rounds until Largemouth called 25, leaving us 15 for the last round.

Stow the coupons and run 3/4 lap of the pickle back to the flag.

COT

No time for Mary. Quiet bunch this morning. Prayers for peace on earth led by YHC. Be the light.

NMS

Wow, good work this morning. I really wasn’t sure we’d make it through the whole thing in 45 minutes. Way to push through and make it happen.

This workout is called the 2005 in honor of a GORUCK class who discovered one of the possible consequences of dropping their flag during an event. It’s even more fun to do it with a ruck on (or overhead), and is downright hysterical to do in strict order (100 squats, 100 merekins…)

Thanks for helping save what’s left of the Q’s voice. We have some Q-ready individuals in CARPEx #hinthint

‘Twas nice to hang out and chat with the PAX after the workout. A luxury we don’t often have on weekday mornings.
