3 PAX (all regulars) pushed aside the 4am doldrums, brushed off the sticky sleep induced eye goo, and donned their mantles of awesomeness and arrived on-time, ready to inflict some punishment on the unsuspecting parking deck. One regular, (Doogie) who was supposed to Q was a no-good AWOL fartsacker. Floyd, comfortable wearing his mantle of awesomeness, stepped up to Q and re-introduced an abbreviated version of a previous Saturday workout, The Escalator.

The Thang: Escalator and Elevator

After a brief warm up consisting of 100 yard dash, arm circles and windmills we began the ever intensifying series of exercises. Basically a four-corners run from the 8th to the 6th floor. At each corner 10 reps of an exercise were added to the previous exercises.

3. SSH x 10 (cadence), Merkins x 10, Jump Lunges x 10 (each side)
4. SSH x 10 (cadence), Merkins x 10, Jump Lunges x 10 (each side), Low Slow Flutters x 10 (cadence)
5. SSH x 10 (cadence), Merkins x 10, Jump Lunges x 10 (each side), Low Slow Flutters x 10 (cadence), Burpees x 10
6. SSH x 10 (cadence), Merkins x 10, Jump Lunges x 10 (each side), Low Slow Flutters x 10 (cadence), Burpees x 10, Merkin Twists x 10
7. SSH x 10 (cadence), Merkins x 10, Jump Lunges x 10 (each side), Low Slow Flutters x 10 (cadence), Burpees x 10, Merkin Twists x 10, Knees to chest jumps x 10

Elevator: We rode the elevator back to the 8th floor.

COT: Riggs performed,

T-claps to Riggs and Flying J for enduring a brutal escalation of exercises. It was pretty easy until set 6 when Merkin twists were added. Then it was on like Donkey Kong.

I think we should use the elevator more each week.

Too bad we couldn’t get the 10th set in due to time restrictions. That would’ve added 100 more reps. Our bodies would likely still be on the 6th floor, bloated and attracting flies.
