Drifter and I received strong encouragement for our first Q, and after repeatedly being asked to “bring the heat”, we did our best.

The warm up:

• Lap around the loop driveway, circling up near the playground
• SSH x 20
• Imperial Walker x 15
• Willie Mays Haze x 15
• Merkins x 10 cadence
• Burpees x 10

The Thang:
Each man grabbed a rock and carried them up to the bath house. We split into two groups. Group 1 did a high-knee run approx. 100 yards down the driveway, and then ran backwards to the start. At the same time, group 2 did squats and overhead presses with their rock. We then switched places. Upon completion we planked in harmony together.

Round 2: This time, group 1 frog jumped approx. 50 yards, then did but kickers another 50 yards, then sprinted back to the start. While waiting, group 2 did balls to the wall at the bath house. We then reversed with group 1 doing balls to the wall and group 2 travelling. More planking upon completion.

I turned it over to Drifter at this point, and he proceeded to bring the real heat, working hard to re-live some of his training days as a UNC soccer player.
Group 1 did incline merkins against the large baseballs in front of the bath house. Group 2 did a sprinting sequence around the loop driveway – jogging when you grass on the right, and sprinting when parking spaces on the right, so it felt like this, jog, sprint, sprint, sprint, jog, sprint, sprint, sprint, jog. Group 1 and group 2 switched up again, both completing the sequence.

Then we grabbed our rocks and moseyed over to the field. The studs carried their rock over their head. The rest of us just carried them. We all lined up at the field end line. We did a standard suicide together, sprinting to the closest line and back, then to midfield and back, then past midfield and back, then the full field and back. This was followed by LBCs until everyone finished.

I’m afraid I can’t clearly articulate the sprinting sequence Drifter subjected us to next. It was complex, as it worked our minds and our legs, but an awesome cardio/speed workout. We basically did a suicide sequence around the perimeter of the field. It started with jogging a section, then sprinting a section, with the sprinting sections increasing with each lap around the field, with the last being a full sprint around the entire field. We circled the field at least 3 or four times.

Mary
After this whipping, we grabbed our rocks and moseyed back to the playground area to return our rocks. We then circled up for a strong Mary session which consisted of Merkins, Russian Hammers, LBCs and several more ab-focused moves (sorry I don’t know the names) involving laying on your back and holding and moving your legs around in the air…high, low, side to side, etc…abs were burning.

COT

Thanks to everyone for the encouragement as we sweated through our first Q.
