Some GRT shop talk between YHC and Ollie turned into a monologue about the HTL’ers out in Asheville this weekend. 55 started the Heavy, and 20 of them returned to start the Tough, which was Endex’ing about the same time we were starting. YHC advised that if anyone was feeling beaten-down this morning, remember that It Could Always Be Worse.

Enough of that. SSH x25, GM x15, MC x25, Merkins x15.

Sir Fazio Arm Circles x10 IC, hold it and do some unknown number of Cadre Phil Arm Claps at varying paces. Hold it and reverse the arm circles.

Shake out the arms while doing lunge walk to end of parking lot, jog back.

Give those legs a break and bear crawl half way to end of lot, jog back. Squat hold when done, gather the PAX and off we go

Mosey to the ball fields, find some bleacher and a picnic table and do:

  • L/R step-up x20
  • Irkin x20
  • Dip x20
  • Derkin x20
  • Repeato

Mosey once more, through the woods and to the steps at the corner of the lake trail and paved trail.

Robert Plant (part 1): run to top of steps, do 1 prisoner squat, run back down and do 1 plank jack. Repeato to 7 each.

Select a partner and a snake-free rock. As a team, complete 100 rock curls and 100 squats, while other partner runs to snake-infested rock pile and back. After those 200, do one more run each while partner does AMRAP 10 curls, 10 overhead press, 10 tricep extension. Discard your rock.

Led Zeppelin II (the best one, of course.. and the activity did go over like a lead zeppelin.) – run to top of steps, do 1 burpee. Run to bottom, do 1.. burpee. Repeato to 7 each.  #popular #embracethesuck

  • 55x American Hammer (or is it just a Russian Twist if you only do 2-count?) – for each #F3HTL Heavy starter.

Overnight rains made for a steamy morning, foreshadowing what the next few months are like in the Carolinas.Here’s hoping we can eke out a few more weeks of spring.

A couple of intrepid PAX opted for an EC run this morning, and YHC did some rucking. I did about the same number of minutes as the HTL’ers in Asheville did hours yesterday. A drop in the bucket, but it felt good to get out and feel some kinship. #ISI

Banjo did EC, but I guess it’s only extra if you actually post. I’m sure there’s a Lexicon term for showing up for a pre-run and then bolting on the workout. Or maybe we need to coin it?

I had a few other devious exercises planned, but they’ll have to wait for another time. I can feel the anticipation.

The question of coffeeteria venue was raised, and Ollie asserted that La Farm ought be the location.. and then did not post to coffeeteria. I think we do have a term for that #pull-a-burt
