My first Backblast…ahhhh the thrill. Not sure if the format is right but here goes…

First off, BIG thanks to Pygmy for both getting me to come and coaching me a bit for my Q day!
Wall-E had a number of events planned and was changing them on the fly due to the excessive darkness. Headlamp in my future!
Started with good warm up.

Brief run to the tennis court for Burpee Dans
Burpee Dans = 1 burpee, 4 lunge steps, 1 burpee, 4 lunge steps to over side of court and back. On back leg 2 burpees, 4 lunge steps, 2 burpees, 4 lunge steps. REPEAT with StarJumps replacing Burpees. (good time had by all)
Run to other side of campus (up/down parking lot) (encountered a bit of traffic but no deaths reported)
–> count off 1,2,1,2 etc
–> 1’s run the lap, twos do merkins, alternate (2’s run, one’s do merkins)
–> repeat both 1 and 2 running with squats, repeat with LBC’s, repeat with something else then until end
Run to rockpile
–> got traveling rocks, circled up for
- Arm curls
- tricep extensions
- squat presses
- bent over rows (called whatyamacallit’s by yours truly)
- LBC’s x 10
–> run a few hundred yards (repeat excercises), run a few hundred more yards (repeat excercises), run back, replace rocks
Circle up in field near tennis courts to try a few new things
–> Goofballs (upright mtn climbers with arms trying to climb rope)
–> Al Gore – 5 count around circle (squat with arms extended to mimic hugging a tree)
–> Freddy mercurys
Run back to original lot for warn down
–> LBC x 20
–> Abe Vigoda (slow stretchy windmills) x 10
–> Protractor (around the circle, call an angle, count to 5, next guy)
–> something else
–> end up with Spine Relaxer’s (in cadence 5 count)
Next Q look out for Cirlce Bump, indian Run, more Al Gore’s and something new…)
