YHC is getting back into the swing of things in the New Year with two consecutive Monday AM beatdowns, his injury hopefully rounding into shape for full-go running by the end of the month. Meanwhile, a Heavy Metal party was just what the trainer ordered on a cold, wet Monday morning.

Eighteen hardy PAX, including FNG Young Man Coco, met for F3 Fetzer on the UNCĀ  Campus. Fortunately, Adolphus and Dunphy had the bright idea of convening in the parking deck next to the UNC Law School, so after braving the elements for a warmup in a steady rain (SSH, IW, Windmills, Carolina Dry Docks, Merkins, Arm Circles) and a sloshfest across the IM fields to the parking deck, we circled up under cover with a phalanx of kettlebells, dumbells, barbells, ruck sacks and cement filled pipes. Seventeen stations were set up (curls, squats, rows, plank-position rows, overhead presses, KB swings, you get the picture). One PAX ran a 75-yard sprint and return and knocked out 10 burpees while the rest of the group did an exercise at their station. We rotated through until everyone had been through each station.

Then it was on to 10 double-merkin burpees followed by a merkin pyramid, going from 1 up to 10 and then down, pausing on occasion to flip over on our backs and knock out LBCs, Freddie Mercurys and Rosalitas. Then three sets of 30-second low-plank holds and 10 Parker Peters. We wrapped it up with a quick session of Mary: LBCs, WWIIs, Russian Hammers, Box Cutters, Long-Slow Flutters.

Outstanding job by 18 to not fartsack it on a nasty morning.
