With one missed Q and a semi-successful Field of Dreams Q where he ran us into a dead-end, this was Riptide’s redemption Q. Or was it? Through no fault of his own, M. Riptide fell ill, putting the burden of parenthood solely on Riptide’s shoulders. That left the site Qs to pick up the load. And if I do say so myself, Franklin and Ma Bell more than capably handled it. Rippy did the right thing and became a better father and husband. I can only imagine the mesmerized look his 2.0s must have had upon waking to that beautiful wave of flowing hair atop Riptide’s head.
The Pax arrove (UNCheat joke there) slowly today, but by 5:44:30, we had 14. That’ll do. Follow me. Up the road toward the USA Baseball complex, past the partially relocated rock pile, stopping along the way for 2 sets of 25 Merkins OYO. You knew it was coming. At the bottom of the hill we ovaled up for a warm-up of:
- 27 x SSH IC
- 10 x slooooow GMs
- 19 (I think) x Calf Raises
Side shuffle up to the mailbox at the top of the road, recover on the jog back down to the bottom. 25 Merkins OYO. Turn around and side shuffle back to the mailbox, then jog back down to the bottom for 25 Merkins OYO. Backwards run back to the top of the hill and squat hold.
Time for some 4 corners in the big USA Baseball parking lot. Brisk jog to the first corner where we did 29 American Hammers IC. Karaoke to the next corner where we did some random number of Big Boy Sit-Ups. It was enough to elicit a lot of grunting. Backwards run halfway to the next corner, then run it out the rest of the way, where we did 11 x Low Slow Flutters IC. Karaoke back to original corner we did 25 Merkins OYO, then some Plank-o-rama before Ma Bell handed the Q off to fellow site Q, Franklin.
Immediately, Franklin made us partner up for Dirty Dora 1-2-3. This time it was 100 Calf Raises, 200 Squats, and 300 LBCs as a team. While one partner was doing named exercises, other partner was running a loop around the “short” side of the parking lot. Squat hold while the 6 finishes up.
Jog at fellowship pace back down the road, stopping for some lunge walk intervals between light poles, up the path and over to the small(er) shelfter for 3 sets of dueling Dips and Alternating L/R Step-Ups – 15, 10, and 5 reps respectively. Jog over to the basketball courts for a final set of Calf Raises.
