Ahh! I was so good to be back in the Danger Zone this morning! The air was warmer than expected, the shovel flag was planted, the PAX were in a tight circle and way too energetic (read: mouthy). YHC felt like he was finally home.

Ummm…can someone tell me how to get to the volleyball courts?

WARM UP

Jog a lap around the pickle and end up at the bottom of the lot. Circle up for SSH, Good Mornings, Imperial Walkers. Then count off, get a partner, and partner carry 50 yards or so, then flapjack.

THE THANG

Jog down to the volleyball courts and go right into a Hasselhoff around all four courts. Backwards run to the end of the courts and separate into two groups. Group 1, line up for sandy suicides, stopping at home each time for 15 merkins. Group 2 hold People’s Chair. Then Flapjack. Next, group 1 lines up for full court sprints while group 2 holds BTTW. Flap jack. I could swear we did one more thing, but I can’t remember.

Next, run up to Smurf Island for some yoga-inspired Plank-o-Rama…is goes like this: Right hand forward, left hand forward, right hand back, left hand back, right knee to right armpit, and back, left knee to left armpit, and back, CHILLCUT!!, Right knee forward, and back, left knee forward, and back, right hip down, and up, left hip down, then up, and back to Plank. BOOM. Do that entire rotation 3 more times. This was interesting.

Next, run over to the basketball courts and separate into groups again. G1 4-stop suicides, G2 dips AMRAP, flapjack. G1 suicides, G2 Irkens AMRAP, flapjack. G1 two full-court sprints, G2 decline plank, flapjack. Then circle up for…

MARY

NMS

  • Lively group this morning. I don’t know if it was the warm weather, or just the excitement of having me back in the DZ Q rotation, but the PAX wouldn’t shut up today.
  • Lots of inside jokes this morning too.
  • It’s too bad you weren’t there.
  • With the 17 at DP and 22 at DZ, Friday CARPEx attendance gets up to 39 PAX. Awesome work!
  • #checkmymath
  • 8 Respects? EIGHT! That’s incredible!
  • It didn’t really hit me how much I missed DZ until I got out of my car 90 seconds after I had gotten into it. That drive is sooooo short, yo!
  • Plus, it’s just a great site. I mean, we’ve got volleyball courts, basketball courts, miles and miles of paved trails, bridges galore, open fields, rock piles, Smurf Island, picnic shelters. Hell, we even have a pickle!
  • Do you have a pickle?
  • Is everybody ready for Snowpocolypse 2017 tonight?!? Man, I can’t wait!!
  • I think the workout at Phoenix should just be an hour of running up the dam, then sledding down…and REPEATO!
  • You think I’m kidding.
  • *checks Q sheet*
  • *sees it’s wide open*
  • *throws out shoulder from fist pumping so hard*
  • Seriously now…if anyone has sleds, bring them to Phoenix tomorrow morning! If not, bring a cardboard box.
  • Even better idea…Riptide, I need to borrow your sleighs.
  • We gunna tie them to the back of a BFT and go for a ride!!
  • Safe, you ask? Of course it’s safe! We used to do this in Indiana all the time!
  • Just don’t fall off while BFT is doing more than 45 mph. Well, unless there’s six inches of snow. In that case, anything under 60 is safe (maybe a bruise or two, but you’ll live)
  • (also bring a flask)
  • (umm…not an empty one)
  • See you in the Snowmageddon!
