Two shovel flags planted this morning in the shade of a warm dawn dawn at Fletcher Park, home of Ball Bearings. The radio dial in YHC’s head this morning is Sir Elton John, more on that later. Now to the recap of today’s business…..

Naked Moleskin:

-Decent amount of mumblechatter today (mostly from 2 people but we’ll take it), Dredd would have enjoyed and chimed in but posted elsewhere this morning. Ho hum.

-T-claps to Caddy and the birth of baby # 3 to his family, a healthy girl I hear.

– Susan Komen Race is June 14th, you can still sign up. Check the link on the announcements page. Donate, run or both.

-T-claps to Gilligan & Blue Horseshoe for their first posts this morning. We’ll be interested to Blue Horseshoe’s perspective from within over the next few weeks and if he writes about it. Well done, baptism by fire this morning my friends.

-F3 Wilmington launches this Saturday. Chong Li is departing at 4:30am and will be back by lunchtime. Utah is going too, full disclosure.

-In March of 2012 Wendell Gee had the vision for a Wednesday workout at Fletcher Park and tasked Money Hose to Q it. Months later the name was changed to Ball Bearings. The leader inspires a follower who in turn becomes a leader to inspire other followers like King David who is the current Site Q. Servant leadership through the starfish model, that’s F3 at its best….beautiful. Pullen Park is F3 Raleigh’s Plymouth Rock, but Fletcher is where it settled. Look what it’s lead to. The standards for tough 45 minute mid-week workouts were established then and are held high today. To Q BB that comes with an obligation to push it hard, it’s an honor. T-claps to these men.

-So what’s with the workout title and why will an Elton John song not leave my head? Since I started F3 my line of thinking has been irreversibly altered to where everything I see and hear has a different perspective. I’ve heard Mona Lisas & Mad Hatters for years, but didn’t really listen until a few weeks ago when a verse & chorus struck a nerve:

“Subway’s no way for a good man to go down
Rich man can ride and the hobo he can drown
And I thank the Lord for the people I have found
I thank the Lord for the people I have found”

While Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters
Sons of bankers, sons of lawyers
Turn around and say good morning to the night
For unless they see the sky
But they can’t and that is why
They know not if it’s dark outside or light

A #sadclown recognizing that is who they are and writing about all the others they now see, but there is hope. Anyone reading this probably knows the feeling in their gut we are taking about and in turn now knows “The Solution” too…..go read Freed to Lead and EH someone.
