16 of us met on the Village Green in Southern Village for what is quickly becoming the latest next big thing: a tempo workout at Pleasantville. (Actually, 15 of us met there and Band Camp somehow tracked us down at Scroggs.)  T-claps to Misery who may not even know that I borrowed his workout (http://f3nation.com/2016/04/27/stage-fright/).

Here’s what happened:

Warm-up, all in cadence:  SSH x 25, Imperial Walker x 20, Arm Circle/Reverse x 10, Willie Mays Hays x 10, Good Morning x 10, Merkin x 10.

Jog to Scroggs Elementary drop off circle. At bottom of circle pair up – one partner runs a lap while the other does burpees. Switch with your partner and continue until 100 total burpees have been knocked out by each pair. Quick 10 count and then repeat, this time with 100 squats for the pair. Repeat two more times with 100 merkins then 100 WWIIs.

Jog to playground for 2 sets of 10 pull-ups each.

Jog back to Village Green stopping on the wall in front of Weaver Street for 15 dips then 15 Irkins, x2.

Finish on Village Green with 5 minutes of dealer’s choice Mary including LBCs, ski abs, mountain climbers, box cutters and something else I think.

Thanks to the Downing Creek crew for visiting Pleasantville this Monday for my first Q in too long. (I noticed Blindside sported the LP hoodie the entire workout, despite the heat and humidity – I hope that wasn’t for my benefit!)

It’s been 2 years since Au Pair dragged me out to the Churham “Resurgence” at Thin Blue Line. A lot has happened since then – most notably the incredible explosion of AOs and pax in Chapel Hill and Durham. What started as a few guys at a single workout on most (but not all) days has turned into multiple workouts every day. And we keep growing.

As I said in the COT this morning, we all face challenges in life. F3 provides a framework that tilts our perspective and allows those challenges to seem – and therefore to be – just a bit more manageable. The support we bring to each other and that we take out into our communities is real, and it matters.

Personally, I can’t thank you guys enough.
