Twenty-five PAX showed up bright-eyed and bushy-tailed for the first March workout at Fetzer Field Monday morning, and we were warmed by the rising sun before the end of the festivities. Of course, that won’t last with Daylight Savings Time starting next Sunday, but it was nice for one day.
Kim Jung Still and Walt led half the group on a campus tour. The Thang:
Run past the pool at Fetzer, stop on stairs.
20 Derkins, 20 IC body squats, 20 Derkins.
Run to stairs above the amphitheatre. Bear Crawl down 4 flights of stairs. Half the PAX line up and do Dips IC while other half runs up to stadium and around the loop. Switch and repeat each team goes twice.
Line up on the amphitheatre. Each wall has a different set of Merkins.
10 standard Merkins Run to wall.
10 Wide Grip and to next wall.
10 Diamond and to next wall.
10 military.
Rinse and Repeat.
Mosey to Hill for Travelling Burpees halfway up the hill then run to the quad. Duck Walk to the Chemistry Building and low squat hold.
Run to the Boulevard of Broken Dreams. Bear Crawl the length stopping at each column for 5 Carolina Dry Docks. Don’t get up and walk during the bear crawl. Push yourself to stop and rest to make it through the boulevard.
Return to Fetzer Field for Mary.
Meanwhile, Shooter took the other half of the group to Navy Field for a merkin/squat/core oriented session. The group roamed the turf and grass fields with sprints or walking lunges, stopping at random spots for sets of merkins (standard, triangle, wide-grip, three-stop, pike), squats/lunges, bows-to-toes planks and assorted core (Parker Peters, LBCs, Heels to Heavens). The group made one detour to the pull-up and dip station at the football trailer for a session of dips and pull-ups for each man.
Both groups reconvened at Fetzer Field for Mary, which included a diabolical idea to draw the alphabet with both legs while lying on your back.
