With all the talk between the two self-proclaimed Wednesday “varsity” workouts (UJ and BB) and their “rivalry” / Q-swap (sounds like a Forge / True Grit copycat to me), YHC was happy to Q the “JV” workout….no pressure.  With a pre-workout promise to Overdraft for NO PROPS in order to get him to HC, ladders, sandbags, etc. were left at home.  We were going to run!  18, including young buck 007 whom I drug out of the fart sack to work off some of those afternoon oreos, were eager to roll.  This group hardly looked JV to me!  Let’s do this:

Warm-up:  SSH x 15; GM x 10; merkins x 15 (I think); mtn climbers x 15; windmills x 10

Initial plan was to get in several miles, but about 200 yards into a run, the calf started hurting again.  We’d still run but clearly dialed it back which probably disappointed High Life and opted for less run, more merkins (wheelhouse).

-Jog from parking lot to rocks at restaurant for curls, then merkins, presses, then merkins, extensions, then merkins, etc.  I’ve seen nothing that could slow Red Card in his two week tear through F3, but apparently he was no match for the bees / wasps under those rocks.  Apologies for not even knowing RC split….hope you’re feeling ok.  Drop rocks and bear crawl down to corner by stop sign. Plank waiting for others.

-Jog down back road / greenway a bit then partner up for wheelbarrows alternating as needed til you get close to McDonalds.  Recover on the jog down greenway trail on the part headed towards the museum.  Quick stop on the right to admire the bridge / patio / benches built by CW and his crew (hope they didn’t pay much for that…haha).  Not enough room to do much there, we returned to the greenway.  Jog more and then bear crawl / lunge walk bridges.  Reach condos for B-T-W on wall followed by people’s chair and more BTW….I promise 007 wasn’t prompted for that slow count, just trying to be funny kid I guess.  Being 1/2 way into workout, turn around.

-Jog back down greenway to right on wooden bridge for a bit of a trail run (taste of endorphin).  Back on paved greenway, run back to Blue Ridge to let everyone consolidate.  Continue run to rock pile next to McDonalds for more rock work and merkins of various varieties.  Throw in a little ab work.  Run back to Crabtree lunge walking the wooden bridge.

Know there were various other stops for merkins, quick feet, etc. to let the group consolidate during the run but can’t recall exactly where.  Props to High Life for pushing the group as he basically led the group in the run.

Mary: Flutter and LBCs.

COT: Komen run 6/13 – if you can’t run, donate!
