Twenty-nine PAX convened on the first freezing morning of the fall but there was plenty of heat of the battle to warm everyone up.

The Thang:

Warmup: SSH x 20, Air Squat x 10, IW x 10, Arm Circles x10 both directions, Merkins x 10, Mountain Climbers x 20.

Mosey to the Intramural Fields for repeat of Dunphy’s 20 Double-Merkin Burpee tea party from the week before. It was such a good idea then and a better one today that we went for 21 for good measure.

Leisurely run to the brick plaza outside the northwest corner of Kenan Stadium, where we circled up for combos of Carolina Dry Docks and Walking Merkins, first 2 of each, then 4, 6, 8, 10, and back down to 8, 6, 4, 2.

Then the PAX were treated to plank circuits of Plank Jacks, Ski Planks, Parker Peters and Mountain Climbers, 10 count each, two circuits total. YHC had planned three circuits but frankly realized it was too damn hard so we moved along.

Then down the steps to the park to the west of Kenan Stadium, line up along the stone steps for three circuits of 15 Dips and 10 Derkins.

Realizing you can never get too much of a good thing, we knocked out 21 more Burpees before hustling back up the steps, reconvening in a circle for the first half of Six Minutes of Mary: LBC x 12, Pulse Ups x 12, Freddie Mercuries x 12.

And a quick dash back to the IM field in front of Carmichael Arena for completion of Mary: LBC, Russian Hammers, Low Slow Flutters x 12 each and 15 WWII situps.

Thoughts and prayers from all the PAX to Lo Pair, who’ll be taking a temporary leave of absence to address some health issues. As Coach Doherty so aptly put it taking us out, the F3 brotherhood will “knit together” to help one of our own through a difficult time.
