11 intrepid men braved the chlorine saturated air of Optimist Park to get better in the water today. Although we had some relatively new swimmers today, there we no FNGs, so we (literally) dove right in and got it going. Today’s focus included hypoxic training and learning some lap swimming drills.
Warmup
- 100 yards freestyle
- 100 drill (your choice stroke)
- 25 underwater swim – x2
- 50 freestyle
The Thang
- Descending ladder:
- 200/150/100/50 yards freestyle
- Sprint the final 25 yards of each repetition; rest 30 seconds in between.
- 25 underwater/25 drill x2
- Ascending ladder:
- 50/100/150/200 yards freestyle
- Sprint the first 25 yards of each repetition; rest 30 seconds in between.
- 25 yards underwater/25 yards drill – x2
- 25 yards sprint, 25 yards underwater – x3 (no rest in between)
- Short cool down.
