Prologue:
It’s been a close to a month since my last downtown post, so I attended Countrywide’s Q at The Rock on Tuesday to get back in a “Downtown State of Mind”. I didn’t plan to borrow any of his workout, but our pass through Halifax Mall gave me some ideas.

Warm Up:
Check for FNGs (one!), give the mission and disclaimer, and warm up. Wait, Hot Tub Time Machine tells us we need to go pick up some prerunners at the parking deck. So we mosey a couple of blocks down Edenton to the deck at the corner with McDowell, annoying a WRAL reporter along the way (I apologized to her because Your Humble Correspondent is CLASSY).
While we wait for Don’t Fix It and Bouchér to come out of the deck, I get the warm ups going.

Main Event:
Partner up for the purpose of splitting the group and partner work later at Halifax Mall
1) Mosey North on McDowell, East on Jones, North on Salisbury, and E on Lane to the crosswalk underneath the pedestrian overpass. Stagger Partner 1 group and Partner 2 group up hill to Wilmington St for Jacob’s Ladder. Hot Tub “encouraged” me to not be satisfied with the standard burpee, so YHC makes an audible for Man Maker (Plank Jack) Burpees
2) Mosey back up Lane, N on Wilmington to the parking lot on corner of E North St. YHC had planned for Elevens, but being pretty gassed from the prerun and wanting to save time for Halifax Mall, I switched to Sevens of WW1s and Burpees
3) Looking at the time, Halifax ain’t gonna happen, so we mosey back to start but take a pit stop at the corner of Wilmington and Jones for Bat Wings. Crowd pleaser. Lots of shuffling around as PAX (including me) wanted to distract from the arm discomfort. Whether the 20 second holds should be single count or IC was a topic of discussion

Welcome FNG Mango Seltzer! Some PAX wanted to call him Bat Wings, but we backed off naming him after an exercise. YHC did not get any traction trying to shorten it to Mango (from Saturday Night Live)
3rd F discussion led by Footy at the Village District Starbucks immediately following workout
Jimmer has organized a CSAUP in the style of the Krispy Kreme challenge for this Saturday before Ambassador for those interested
Screentime announces there is a Super Bowl bet/challenge between Go Fix It and Chowdah depending on which team wins the big game. Hopefully Chowdah won’t drown if he has to swim
Prayers for El Chapo’s mom
YHC took us out

Naked Moleskin:
It was cold. Again.
Not sure how the detours led to the entire Halifax plan being jettisoned, but at least we weren’t sitting around. I might have to try it again when I Q The Rock on 3/9.
The GA squad is a fun group, Hot Tub was definitely trying to throw me off my game.
I’m bringing back something I did a couple of years ago for some fun (thanks to a mention by Johnny 5 at The Crick). I will give $1 to the first person who replies “Johnny 5 is awesome!” to this backblast. (UPDATE: Midget4Life WINS $1, replying 2hrs 23 min after this BB was shared on Twitter)
This was my tenth #F3Q21 #2021Challenge Q. Next stop is Flood Zone on 2/5 (Tomorrow!)
