No ice. No rain. Plenty of pain. Day 3 was upon us. 14 PAX had no excuse to fartsack, so they grabbed some iron and showed up at Carroll Middle. It was a momentous day. Two years in the gloom for YHC. Let’s have some fun.
Mosey over to the wall by the school at the back entrance. Get comfortable, we’re not going far.
Good mornings x15, Imperial walkers x20, Windmills x20
Line up along the wall. Time to enjoy the pyramids. We repeated the following together in cadence 10 times, 15, 20, 15, and back to 10.
Kettle Bell Swings, Curls, Bent Over Row, Goblet Squats, Right arm merkins on the bell, left arm merkins on the bell. People’s chair for an 8 count down the line, then run across the parking lot and back.
Time was up after making it up and down the pyramid. We wrapped up with some Mary. Bell-BCs, Flutters and American Hammers, all with the iron bells.
COT- Mule coming up 3/5, Mud-Run teams being formed. Prayers up for YHC’s friend going through a rough patch, and Cinderella’s friends (apologies I can’t remember their names).
Moleskin:
It’s been 2 years since I emerged from sad clown status at the urging of Gnobby and Rogaine (wherever he is), and posted at North Hills Park on a cold Monday. The physical benefits have been great. I’ve pushed myself past limits I had in my head on that first day in the gloom. I wasn’t a “workout” guy. Never loved the exercise the way some guys do. But F3 has changed that.
The reason for that is the brotherhood I have found in F3. Without the accountability of the men I’ve come to know, I wouldn’t have stuck with it for 2 years. I wouldn’t have done mud runs, a GoRuck or signed up for BRR. I have been grateful for the push by those guys around me and the friendships developed. My encouragement to my fellow PAX is to continue to develop those relationships with the men joining you in the gloom. You will be better for it. And for the man you’re still EH’ing: keep working on it. I didn’t agree to an F3 workout the first try. You gotta headlock em. Don’t quit on him. Tell that guy what he’s missing.
Thank you to F3 Raleigh for the last two years. I am a better man than when I started, and I look forward to the next two.
Day 3 of the #OTC is in the books. Cinderella took us out.
