If you ever needed an excuse to own a kilt, you now have one. And in the process, you could become part of a Guinness World Record. On March 1st the Raleigh nOg Run Club will host the 6th annual St. Paddy’s Run Green 8k and the 200 meter Largest Kilt Run World Record attempt. Seriously, you know you want to add a Guinness World Record to your resume!
It’s a beautiful course and great after-party. I’m QIC and would love to see a big group sporting F3 shirts. Bring your Ms and 2.0s. Sign-up here, select F3 race team, and let me know (comment below or twitter @J_H_M). I’ll add you to the PAX list.
The Kilt Run starts at 2pm. The 8k at 3pm. You can register for only the Kilt Run, or for the 8k which includes the Kilt Run. The Kilt Run by itself is $5 without an event shirt, or $20 with a shirt. 8k is $35 with a shirt. Both include a free beer.
Need a kilt? Go to SportKilt.com and use promo code SPRG8K for 10% off. Or they will be selling cheap costume kilts at packet pickup and at the event. Or you can buy a few yards of tartan fabric from a craft store and strap it around your waist with a belt.

“Aye, fight and you may die. Run and you’ll live — at least a while. And dying in your beds many years from now, would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that for one chance, just one chance to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they’ll never take our freedom!!!”
