The Q received a text from Grady the night before informing of the passing of Virgil Runnels Jr, AKA Dusty Rhodes, the professional  wrestler had died at 69.  Grady made a suggestion of maybe doing something in honor of Dusty.  Since the Q had not yet started to put the brain matter in motion on an exercise routine, I got on Google and obtained some information on Dusty Rhodes.  The information on Mr. Rhodes was intriguing but how do you put together an exercise program that pays tribute to a professional wrestler.  With 11 in the Pax with 1 FNG we did our best to make “The American Dream” proud:

Warm Up:10 Burpees OYO; Franzia segwayed us to SSH 20 X; Fazio Arm Circles 10X – Reverse; Mountain Climbers 15X; Imperial Walkers 15X

The Thang: Indian Run from the parking on greenway to Baileywick and to the Rock Pile.  Pick your favorite rock circle up and since Dusty was born in October we did sets of 10 for each of the following:  Overhead Press drop rock  rotate to the right (DRRR), Curls DRRR, Rock Squats DRRR, Rock Bent Over Rows, Reap the 4 exercises 3X – Dusty was born on the 12th.  The last two exercises we did with our favorite rock.  Next on the list was the ring around the parking lot – again the 12 burpees in each corner of the ring.  Plank hold when done.  Next we mozied to the ball field where the American Past Time is played so to honor The American Dream the Pax Bear Crawled to first ran to the fence back to first, crab walked to second to the fence back to second, lunged to third ran to the fence and touche home plate for the score!  People’s chair along the fence 10 count by each, BTTW 10 count by each member of Pax.  On to the shelter where there are tables not to throw but to do Step Ups 10X, Urkins 10X, Durkins 10X, doing each 4 times to equal 12.  There was some mumble chatter from the Pax early on that there may be some running this morning not wanting to disappoint we did another Indian Run on the Green Way cut through the filed to the parking lot for some Mary.

Mary:

LBC 20X, WWII Situps 20X, Homer to Marge 20 X and last but not least American Hammer with a goal of 69 (age that Dusty passed).  The Q made it to 30….sorry guys I am getting old….Last bit on Dusty, he was the son of a plumber and the Pax payed the last homage by being soaked.

Announcements:  Susan G. Komen race F3 will meet at Martin, Les Nesman is playing at Sola this evening it will be a good time, the forum meets every Monday at Panera Bread at Strickland & Six Forks. Welcome Turnbuckle, hope to see you in the gloom again soon.

Prayer Requests: Franzia’s kids are at camp and a tragic accident took the life of a camper, Candlestick’s kids are leaving on a mission trip to Costa Rica, Paper Cut will be taking his kids to camp. (Do we pray for the kids or Paper Cut:)

It was an honor to Q on such a beautiful morning with outstanding men.
