Saturday morning is not for sleeping in. 24 PAX, including 4 FNGs and 1 visitor from the Fort, met yesterday at 6:30 to grind out a ~3.75 mile jaunt through the North Carolina Museum of Art Park. The Thang:
Met in the parking lot and ran ~half mile to the open field by the gratto and last sculpture for warm ups. SSH x 20, Imperial Walkers x 20, Fazio Arm Circles Led by Sir Fazio himself, Good mornings x 20, Merkens x 20, LBCs x 20.
We ran down the gravel trail, through the woods and back to the paved trail to the base of the BFH. 11’s up the hill with 10 burpees at the top and 1 prisoner squat when back to the bottom; a quarter mile up and a quarter mile down. Due to time constraints, we made it up and down 4 times before planking out to move on to the next exercise. My personal highlight of this segment of the workout was passing Encroachment on my way down the hill and receiving some colorful language from him about what I could do to myself for making the group run the hill over and over.
After some planks, Sarkozy & Putins, Chilcuts and low plank holds, we bear crawled across a wooden bridge and then ran up hill another half mile back towards the parking lot. When we reached the top of that hill and a fork in the path, we paused for 20 monkey humpers and 20 pretzel crunches. Then took a right to the bottom of that hill.
At the base of the hill, everyone grabbed a rock for curls x15, squat press x 15, tricep extensions x 15, curls x 10, squat press x 10, triceps extensions x 10. Dropped the rocks and ran back up to the rings of fire, and circled up. merkens x 30, LBCs x 20, wide grip merkens x 30, homer and marge x 25, and jack webb’s up to 10.
Ran back up the hill from there to the parking lot, circled up and a 5 count 6 inch leg hold around the circle to close it down.
