10 PAX fought the FS for an early AM ruck.  The EC ruck was triple-purpose as we managed to (a) fill some additional coupons & sandbags with uh, well… sand, (b) helped Champ move closer to his desired beach body form, and (c) cover some distance on campus including an ascent of the Cobb Deck with ruck merkins & ruck squats at the top.  Topped off with some double-time ruck speed on the return and we found ourselves back at the AO for our 0545 launch.

The Warmup

Following welcomes, pleasantries & FNG-check, we launched into 15 burpees OYO followed by SSH (x25 IC).  MARTA was the only man man-enough to kick-off with his ruck… so the PAX joined him for his final 5 burpees.

The Thang

With headlamps engaged and sprinkled throughout the PAX of 22, we headed downhill into the darkness towards the sandpit.  It was here that we’d spend the next 35 minutes enjoying the sandy beach.

Upon arrival to the sand, each PAX grabbed one of the newly-minted and sand-enhanced sandbags stowed safely along the retaining wall.  With coupon securely in tow, we lined up on the length of the sand pit.

1st exercise:  Traveling Burpee Sandbag Throw
Each PAX completes a burpee and then throws their sandbag ahead of them (chest-press style).  Step up to sandbag, then rinse & repeat until reaching the fence (x3 court widths); run 5 lengths with sandbag on shoulders; SSH until last man returns.

2nd exercise: Death Merkin Sandbag Drag
Assume merkin position w/ hands on the sandbag (under chest). Complete merkin followed by 2 forward movements (think bear crawl).  Reach back and drag sandbag forward; complete merkin.  Repeato until reaching fence.  Sandbag sprints (x5 length);  SSH until last man.

3rd exercise: Sandbag Squat Throws
Position sandbag at chest and lower into squat position.  Explode upwards while launching the sandbag ahead as far as possible.  Repeato until across all 3 sand courts.  Sandbag sprints (x5 lengths); SSH until the last man.

4th exercise: Max-Rep Pullups + Toes-to-Bar (Team A vs. Team B)
Quickly divide into 2 teams while all PAX SSH to stay warm.  1st man from each team completes max-rep  pullups with a toes-to-bar move.  That’s one rep.  Complete until failure…then next teammate moves in.

Added incentive is this:  Total number of reps for each team = the number of burpees the other team must complete.  Total burpee count for each team = approx. 69 (-ish).  Good news:  We still have 4 minutes to complete.  Bad news:  Only 4 mins is not enough time to crank our 69 (unless of course your name is Beano…and you’re a supernatural, bionic beast who can rep out 70 burpees in 4 minutes.

COT
Key reminder about Operation Sweet Tooth.   Final collection day is this Saturday at TBL.
T-claps to Assist for taking the lead on this for Churham.
Prayers for our teachers, especially those in the Churham PAX.   Theirs is a job that is vital but manages to be underappreciated in countless ways.
Prayers for the unborn 2.0s who are being anxiously awaited by so many men & their Ms throughout Churham.  Keep them safe and healthy as we await the news of a safe arrival into this world over the coming months.

Aye!
