The wet conditions and cold air of the last two days did not keep 9 PAX of F3 Hampton Roads from getting better today.  The morning started well into the gloom with a clown car from North Suffolk making the trek to Mt. Trashmore and ended with some amazing fellowship over bagels and coffee at Panera.  Here’s what happened in between.

The Thang:

A quick warmarama with 25 side straddle hops (in cadence (IC)), 20 shoulder circles (IC), 10 mericans (IC),15 big boy situps (on your own (OYO)).  Then, we were off to the uncharted front side of Mt. Trashmore.

Indian run to hill for Triple Check (Thanks F3 Swirly for the idea).  Groups of three. One PAX runs to top of hill and back, one PAX mericans, and one PAX pole smokers. 2 times through.  FNG Globetrotter (Tanner Hudson) almost lost it in a mud puddle at high speeds on the way down but saved it with a move of extreme athletic prowess.

Mosey to playground for partner sets. An audible was called here to move to picnic tables because playground was closed for construction.  This cost us pull-ups (you’re welcome).  Round 1:  Derkins (10 reps) while partner holds plank. Switch and repeat for a total of 80. Round 2:  80 Big Boy Situps (10 rep sets) while partner holds 6 inches (YHC made the mistake of first set on the grass which really meant in the water). Round 3: 80 Carolina dry docks (10 rep sets) while partner holds one-arm plank.

Mosey to hill beside skate park.  10 count then straight into a Jacob’s ladder.  1 burpee at bottom of hill, sprint to top, 2 burpees at top of hill, 3 at bottom, up to 7.

Indian run across field to the beginning of the Mt. Trashmore ridge.  F3 Hampton Roads crossed a right of passage as we have now splashed Merlot courtesy of Triple Option.  When asked later how he feels, his response was “Much better now.” Spoken like a true HIM (High Impact Man). Aye!

On ridge, ring of fire with mericans followed by ring of fire with flutter kicks.

Mosey to methane pipe #1.  Catch me if you can with 7 Carolina dry docks and bear crawl (x3).

Mosey to methane pipe #2.  Nine rocks pulled from stash. Circle up for dealer’s choice. Exercises called for by the PAX consisted of shoulder presses, curls, tricep extensions, bent over rows, thrusters, front squats, rock mericans, tricep extensions (round 2), curls (round 2), and bus drivers.  After each set the PAX would rotate one rock to the left.  YHC felt as if he were in kindergarten again as the “dealer” always had the “talking rock.”

Mosey down steps before heading back up stair-barrel style (courtesy of F3 Raleigh).  YHC did not know if he was ever going to get a turn as Scully was acting like the energizer bunny.  He just keep “going and going.”

Mosey back to the shovel flags for 5 minutes of Mary.

Circle of Trust (COT):

Counterama and namerama. YHC shared a popular statement in F3 “Iron Sharpens Iron.” (Proverbs 27:17 As iron sharpens iron, one man sharpens another).  YHC spoke of how F3 has pushed him to be stronger and develop genuine friendships with fellow PAX.  One such example is F3 Nick, a person who only a few months ago YHC did not even know but now am comfortable sharing the real challenges in my life.  Scully followed this by sharing how he goes to the gym daily but is never pushed to the same extent as on Saturdays by his fellow PAX.

Moleskin:

We have our first 2ndF only event tomorrow at Smokey Bones from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (or whenever).  It is at the one in Greenbrier NOT VA Beach (1405 Greenbrier Pkwy, Chesapeake, VA).

We will be meeting next Sat. Dec. 24th.  This is a great time to EH (emotional headlock) family members who you will see over Christmas.  McGruff has already HC (hard committed) for his brother-in-law Tatanka (Nan’tan of F3 Orlando).

Mentos is training for a GoRuck Tough and has volunteered to answer any questions we might have.  This would be a great opportunity for some amazing 2ndF and team building.  He will be wearing his pack during the next workout.
