Clear skies.  Cold air.  Dark morning.  A few lingering pains from yesterday’s workout.  Go back to bed?  Nope, you’re the Q.  Let’s run.

The Thang, simple as it is:

3 lap warm-up at fellowship pace.  Circle up and complete a dozen SSH, Good Mornings, Windmills.  Calf stretches.

On the line .  Goal was to maintain a set T-pace (1 minute over mile time) for the entire workout.  We ran for time, not distance.

7 minute run/2 minute recovery

9 minute run/2 minute recovery

7 minute run/3 minute recovery

10 minute run/2 minute recovery

All-in, between 5 and 6 miles depending on pace.

Announcements – Turkey Trot (and associated stroller push if you have a young’un, or a 15 year old in Screech’s case).  Happy day-after-your-50th birthday to Layover, who led us out with a prayer using his years of gathered wisdom.  Welcome back your 2nd Hi-Fi Blue Crush.  Come on back.

I’m surely not alone in having mornings when I don’t want to get out of bed and workout. This was one of them.  But I know I am always glad to have pushed on once the workout is complete.  No exception today.  So I go.  Were it not for this group, I would surely make my way back into the bed with nothing gained but a few more winks.  Once again, grateful for the push…no, pull, that F3 provides.
