As the pax gathered at Pullen to send one of our own into the gloom one last time as a single man, YHC was surveying who might make the trip over to the Arena.  A few regulars along with a couple of Arena fng’s stepped out ready to go.

The leg over was a bit slower than usual as YHC was dragging for some reason, though in short order we made it into the lot where Tecumseh promptly began to encourage the men waiting on rides to join us.  With no takers we arrived at Teddy’s whip to meet for the 2nd time in as many weeks a true fng willing to step into the ring, with our expected Free Bird fartsacking instead of posting for a 2nd week in a row, we made our introductions and got to it.

The Thang:

Warm ups: SSH x 15, Good Mornings x 15, Imperial Walkers x 15, Fazio Arm Circles x 15 e/w

Jog back across to the field by the tracks and find a decent rock to keep company for a while.  As YHC has become known for the call to pass the rock, it seems the selections were more appropriate than in the past, so we would keep our chosen aggregate and start our time with some curls x 15, squat presses x 15, tricept extensions x 15, repeato x 12.  Give your selves some room for a set of Big Boy Jack Webs (diamond merkins on your rock & lift your rock on the presses) 1 to 1 up to 8.  Send your rocks home.

Jog to the back lot and find a partner for some sprints.  Sprint to end of lot while partner does max reps of the called exercise then flip flap, prisoner squats, merkins, burpies.

Jog to the courtyard and find a spot on the benches; L/R step-ups x 15, dips x 15, derkins x 15, repeato x 12.

Circle up for Mary: LBC’s x 25, Rosalita’s x 15, 6 inch leg hold x 10 count through pax of 8.


COT: YHC reminded all of Proverbs 27:17 “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another” that Gods call on our lives is to be present with men in the midst of life, to encourage, to strengthen, and most of all to love.  Our FNG Uncle Si, Scott Johnson is also from Alabama and in his mid 20’s, he promised to give Free Bird just enough feedback to get him back out this weekend.
