My high school football coach, Manny Marshall, was a slim 5’4″ with a white-haired Marines crew cut and a face and beak that looked like an angry eagle.  His coaching philosophy centered around the responsibilities we had to each other as teammates, on and off the field.  So, when I (or others) fell short of our responsibilities, he would shout “Responsibility, Moody.  Responsibility!”.  When I (or others) picked up for one of our teammates that fell short, he would yell the same thing.  When my alarm didn’t go off, and I woke up 10 minutes after my 3rd Q of the week was to start, I heard Manny ringing in my ears.  Dang.  Sorry, coach!  And so I raced off to meet 25 PAX at Fletcher mid-workout.

Chong Li had kicked things off in a big way (Responsibility, Chong. Responsibility) with a warmup run to the parking lot and 50 SSH, Mericans, etc.  Then to the lacrosse field where the Pax did field length sprints combined with 11’s of Mericans and squats.  When I arrived, they were on 6 and it was clear that he had layed it on the PAX.  Nice!  Chong handed me the baton, and we ran to the bottom of Hamburger hill.

Hill suicides with 10 Mericans at each turn (run to base of hill, top of hill, and house of cats and then back to fence).  Plank and complete a series of plank related exercises (plank jacks, right arm, left arm, right leg, left leg, low plank hold, etc).

Hill suicides again with 10 burpees at each turn.  Again plank and a series of plank related exercises.

Run to end of field.  Sprint down, back and down.

Jog to field.  Mary consisting of 23 LBC’s, 20 Long Slow Flutters, Protractors.

Welcome FNG Cl Angus.  Glad to have you!  COT/Announcements(Komen 5K/East Wake startup workout/Wilson startup workout)/Prayer by Charlotte visitor, Lee.

Grateful again for the chance to (partially) lead, and for the support, teamwork, and comraderie this group offers.  Great work today!

As you go forward in your week, may Manny be with you whether giving or receiving.  Responsibility, y’all.  Responsibility.
