9 Pax circled up this morning, readying themselves for a nice beatdown in the gloomiest of glooms. Like, seriously. This gloom was freaking awesome. In my nearly 2.5 years of F3, this was the best gloom I’ve ever witnessed. YHC looked around and cursed in his head after seeing we had an odd number. Partner work was scheduled. Such is life.

But wait! A lone vehicle, lights struggling to cut through the gloom (the same gloom I was just talking about). The vehicle hesitated, making YHC all but certain the driver was trying to find us. And like usual, I was right. With 0700 rapidly approaching, YHC ran through a quick mental list of what we were about to do. 30 more seconds.

Wait…what’s this? Another car? Oh, c’mon man! We got even numbers, then some dope had to screw it up? Who is it, YHC asked himself, careful to hide his disappointment. CK? Oh…okay. YHC again cursed in his head, understanding that his selfishness led him to get pissy at an F3 OG. Tsk tsk. YHC scrambled mentally to come up with a new plan, one involving no partner work. 0700 was upon us, so we circled up for the warm up. YHC was still dealing with the roller coaster of emotion, so that plan was not coming together as he’d hoped. With the 2.0 being up most of the night, YHC isn’t as sharp as usual. It was decided that we could make it up as we go.

But wait!!!! What’s that I see? Is that a big, beautiful grayish blue Infiniti Q45? Is that who I think it is? Yes folks. It was who I thought it was, because again, I was right. My man Fluoride saved the day, bringing the Pax count to a beautiful dozen. Can this day get any better, YHC wondered. Of course it could. The gloom awaited.

Warm Up:

  • SSH x 20
  • Good Morning x 10
  • Imperial Walkers x 20
  • Merkins x 15 IC

The Thang:

Partner up and follow me. We headed to the Billy Run starting line and YHC explained that we were going to do a Bear Crawl Catch Me If You Can. Partner 1 bear crawls whilst P2 performs the most excellent Merkins and Sumo Squats, 10 each, before running to catch their partner. We’re going to the kiosk, YHC said. so, the Pax listened, and we did that.

At the kiosk, Catch me if you can again, this time with P1 doing a backwards run, and partner 2 doing 10 Prisoner Squats before chasing. We did this till we got to the boathouse.

At the boathouse, grab a bench for:

  • Dips x 15 IC
  • Irkens x 15
  • Derkins x 15
  • Dips x 10 IC
  • Irkens x 10
  • Derkins x 10
  • Dips x 5 IC
  • Irkins x 5
  • Derkins x 5

After all that, we did another catch me if you can, heading toward Saban’s hood. P1 runs, P2 does 10 Star Jumps and chases. Go until you reach the first intersection in the neighborhood.

At the intersection, plank until erbody arrives. Then catch me if you can again (do you sense a theme?) with P1 running and P2 doing 15 dying cockroaches then chasing. Go to the next intersection and wait.

At the next intersection, YHCs asthma starting kicking in (the gloom was a little too gloomy), so I decided to take a break from the catch me if you can for a couple minutes. YHC glanced around to see what was available, and to my great pleasure, a ginormous rock pile lay waiting to be taken advantage of by the Pax. So that we did. Grab a rock. Not a traveler, an Ego Rock.

  • Curls x 10 IC
  • Rock press x 10 IC
  • Triceps ext x 10 IC
  • Rock Row x 10 IC

Put the rocks back and line up again for another catch me if you can. The grumbles had been growing steadily louder…music to my ears. P1 runs, P2 does 20 Russian Hammers and chases. We didn’t stop til we hit Maynard.

At Maynard, well, take a guess. P1 runs, P2 does 10 Merkins and chases. We did this til we got back to the Senior Center. Once there, holy moly!! What’s that? Well by golly, that’s another rock pile. Let’s go have a look see.

Get yourself another ego rock and do the following:

  • Curls
  • Press
  • Tri’s
  • Rock squats
  • Rock row

then back to the parking lot for

Mary:

  • Hello Dolly (what’s good, girl?)
  • Left oblique crunches
  • Right oblique crunches
  • Scuba Buddha (thanks Ollie)
  • LBCs (thanks Earhart)

COT:

  • Count-o-rama: 12
  • Name-o-rama: Still 12
  • Announcements: This got waaay outta hand. Sign up to Q, especially at Phoenix.
  • Prayer requests/praises: Prayers for the family of the Rucker that recently died, prayers for Pax with health concerns (Sky Blue, Shutty, Disco Duck, Flip Flop, Jolly Rancher, etc), praise to God for our health and fitness. Praise for the most excellent gloom.

It was a pleasure to lead! Look forward to doing it again soon. I’d do a naked moleskin, but I am so sleepy. It would be weirder than normal. CUITG
