5The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it. [John 1:5]  As we gathered in the darkness of Action Park, YHC was reminded of this verse. While it refers to the coming of the Savior, The warmth and brightness of fellowship also has a powerful effect as men enter the gloom.  Four warriors gathered in the gloom, but push back the darkness

THE THANG:

After a quick stomp around the tennis courts we warmed up with Windmills x 20, Mountain Climbers x 20, Merkins x 20, Side Straddle Hops x 20, and Sir Fazio Arm Circles x 10 each way.

After a run to the bottom of the park we did Star Jumps x 10 and T.D. Curls x 15 each way.  Followed by a Minute for Mary: Russian Hammers x 20, Crossbody Crunch x 20 and Cannonballs x 20.

Feeling the blood starting to flow and the grim darkness starting to break, we moved up to the Concession Stand for Balls to the Wall x 20, Peoples x 30 and Squats x 20. Then do it again but 15 each.

We sauntered to the Tennis Courts for a round of 4 court Burpee Suicides, Wall Peter Parkers and 2 court Bear Crawls.

The hill beckoned us to come do the Stopwatch.  We humbly obliged with 10 merkins at 12, 3, 6, 9 and 12.  This was loads of fun.  A real winner!

At field 1 we partnered up for “running the bases,” with wheelbarrows from first to second, bear crawls second to third, flapjack wheelbarrows third home, and crabwalks back to first.

Being on the Western side of a hill there was no sign of the dawn, but we agreed the darkness seemed less dark.  The brightness of fellowship in the midst of pain was present.

We neared our time so we rushed to finish off with another Minute of Mary.  Rosa-Dollies x 30 and LBCs x 30.

MOLESKIN

On 9/11 we remember the sacrifices made by first responders and others in heroic actions, and the tragic loss of lives by innocent people at the hands of terrorists.  We pray for our country and its leaders as they make decisions about the Middle East and Syria, specifically.

The Mule will run 10/5.  Plan to join us for an extended beatdown and fellowship event.
