19 PAX, 27 2.0’s, and 6 Mrs posted today for the first (hopefully of many) annual F3 Father’s Day event. The purpose of this event was to bring the families together, work up a sweat, and have a lot of fun. The weather was great and a great time was had by all.

The PAX

Warm Up:

SSH x 15
Good Mornings x 10
LBAC x 10
Windmills x 10
Standard Merkins x 10

The Thang(s):

Ark Loader: Bear crawl to 18 and back, then Bunny Hops, Gorilla Walks, and Lunging lizards.

50 yard sprint and back while carrying 2.0s.

Zombie tag: 1 person starts as the zombie. Each person tagged becomes a zombie until only one is left.

Water break

Circle of fire: Everyone planks around the middle circle while groups of 1-5 run around the circle. Everyone runs once. This one lasted way longer than I originally planned due to the tremendous turnout today. Includes Sarcosis, Putins, Low Plank, High Planks. If your 2.0 gets tired, they are allowed to sit on the PAX’s back while they rest.

18 yard sprints, forward and backward

Dad races: Floyd vs Wooly. The kids got to cheer on their favorite (Wooly) who won pretty easily. No surprise.

Cardiac vs. Assisi vs. Kitten: This was the marquee race. Assisi won. He looked like a cheetah. So much faster than the last 2.

Spoon Race: The kids put a golf ball on a spoon an raced to the 50 yd line and back. If they dropped the ball, the dads had to do burpees.

Spoon Race

Dad Penalty Burpees

50 yard sprint: The kids run 50 yards and back

50 yard sprint

Tunnel of love: The parents formed up a standard tunnel while the kids bear crawled through. Floyd got a run through as well. I don’t think the Mrs saw this coming and were shocked by the massive bear crawling through the narrow passage.

Tunnel of Love

Wagon Race: Two red wagons, one dad in each with kids pushing them to the 50yd line and back. There were 2 separate races. No injuries reported, surprisingly.

Merkin challenge. 10 Standard merkins with your children on your back. This is the part where life is not fair because you had to put all of your kids on your back. If you had one small kid, you were good. If you had 2 or 3 pre-teens….well them’s the breaks.

Merkin Challenge

Mary was skipped today so we could do some of the more fun events above.

COT by Coco, very nicely done.

COT

Coffeteria at Panera afterwards.

Moleskin:
This was such a fun event to plan and execute. I can see this turning into an annual event with some interesting possibilities for some family F3 in between.

I think the best thing I saw was Cardiac doing a 50 yard sprint with his 5 week old in his hands.

I want to thank each and every PAX and Mrs who came out today. The participation was so encouraging and all the kids gave so much effort.

Thanks to all the 2.0’s who made this day possible. No Father’s Day without the kids.
