“In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, on the seventeenth day of the second month—on that day all the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened. 12 And rain fell on the earth forty days and forty nights.” Genesis 7:11-12
Well. It was sort of like that. 11 PAX emerged from their slumber to take on a rainy morning at F3 Raleigh’s favorite lake. 8 PAX were venturing out for Day 2 of the Old Testament Challenge. We lost 2 brothers along the way to injury. Such is the nature of the OTC. We’ll pour out some coffee for you Friday.
Mosey over to the bridge on Shelley Road. SSH x25, Good mornings x15, Imperial Walkers x20.
Partner up. Partner 1 runs the hill until they reach the first street that hits Shelley, then back down. Partner 2 AMRAPs a set of 10 burpees, 15 derkins and 20 squats. Flapjack. Repeato but up to the second street, then to the summit. It’s a beast of a hill, but we conquered it.
Hand off to Vila. Mosey back to the Shelley Lake trail and partner up. Partner carry from the dam to the pull-up bars alternating as needed. T-Claps to whoever had to carry Cindy and his weight vest.
At the pull-up bars. Each set of partners does 5 pull-ups per man, 5 partner clap merkins, and 5 LBCs in cadence. Jog over to the well or something. Increase by 5 reps each time pyramid style.
Midway through this, the rain got serious. Epic down pours. Hard to see much. Transformers were exploding in the area (YHC thought it was lightning). We carried on for another minute or two, and made our way to the bridge by the parking lot to take cover. There was no van down by the river. But we did Mary exercises, people’s chair and balls to the walls. And some balls to the walls derkins. Woof.
By now the rain had died down and we circled up for COT. We sent prayers up for brother Orwell, and Pergo’s mom. The Mule is coming up 3/5 6-10am, with a launch from Carroll Middle. Pepe took us out I think.
