The day was finally here. Months of EH’ing, planning by the men of Raleigh, Jackson and Expansion HQ. Due to mother nature, Raleigh’s first crew could not arrive, but 17 showed for the dress rehearsal. YHC had high expectations for this launch. These men have been working out together, EH’ing more men and laying the foundations for a successful region. YHC and Overdraft were honored to make the trip, and join the birth of F3 Jackson. 13 PAX emerged, 9 FNGs. Away we went.

The Thang:

Overdraft batting leadoff. Warm-ups: Side straddle hop x25, Good Mornings x25, Mountain climbers x25, Imperial Walkers x25.

Indian run up to the entrance of the park, back down to the field.

On the soccer field. Time for 11’s. Complete 1 burpee at the first light post, sprint 25 or so yards to the next light post for 10 prisoner squats. Sprint back to the start for 2 burpees, 9 squats, 3 burpees, 8 squats all the way back down to 10 burpees, 1 squat.

The fields are pristine at this fine park. The summer heat in Jackson, no joke.

Now it was YHC’s turn. Venture over to the picnic tables to introduce some new exercises.

In cadence: Irkins x12, Dips x12, Derkins x12, Left-Right Step-Ups x20.

Mosey to the adjoining playground. Bear crawl the path that surrounds the playground, squat hold while everyone finishes. Now for a crowd favorite, crab walk the path squat hold while we finish.

Back to the picnic tables. Irkins x10, Alternating step-ups x20, derkins x10

Circle up in the shade for some pain. Merkins x20, LBCs x20, Prayer squats x20, Freddie Mercury’s x20, Monkey humpers x20, Merkins x20, American hammers x20, 6 inch leg hold with an 8 count around the circle, Dying cockroach x20, Flutter kicks x20, Merkins x20.

And we’re done.

Very strong work by our newest members of F3 Nation. YHC messed up his ankle the week prior running so options were limited. The priority this morning was introducing exercises, and sharing principles of F3 along the way. We talked about the importance of cadence, keeping the group together so no man is left behind, and “if you can’t Q it, don’t do it”.

The leadership here is strong. Scam and Tater-Tot have done an excellent job EH’ing guys out on hot Saturday mornings, and I mean hot. Continue that leadership, and pass the torch to the men around you. YHC passed along a copy of Freed to Lead to Scam at coffeeteria. Read it, and pass it on to the next man.

One final note: The best name given on the day was to our friend “Bumpy Face”. During the crab walks, we introduced the term “Spilling Merlot” (although none had been spilled). Our FNG made the comment that for him, it would be more like “Spilling Gin”. This was noted in COT, and one of the PAX pointed out that a great slang term for Seagram’s Gin, was Bumpy Face.

An honor and a pleasure to join you men in Jackson. Overdraft sent us out with a strong prayer.
