Monday morning came early this week, but with the task of driving the clown car for Orwell, and Qing a site YHC had not yet, YHC had to be on time.  The trusty diesel rolled into the Eastgate lot with a few to spare.  Pleasantries were exchanged and YHC began to conjure up what would soon be the mornings work, here is what I remember.

The Thang: Jog while YHC thinks of how to get the work started properly, up through the park to Wingate and back to the starting point.  One last straggler pulles in just in time to meet us for the warm-up COP.  GM x 15, IW x 15, SSH x 25, SFAC x 10 e/w.

Count off and find a partner, nothing specific matters, just grab someone.  With 16 pax the number was good, and since YHC still didn’t know what to do, P1 stays for AMRAP work while P2 makes the pond to Quail Hollow loop, then flip flap, still with no more good ideas, P1 AMRAP again while P2 heads to Wingate and back, and again flap flip.  Maybe YHC would think of something after one more round, P1 AMRAP while P2 heads the opposite way around the Quail Hollow Loop and one more flip.  Still nothing so back to Wingate and back, flap jack.  How about one more, this time past the lake to Quail Hollow and back and flip again.  How about once again but to the bottom of the entrance and back then swap.

AMRAP consisted of a lot of things YHC doesn’t remember other than, freddy merc’s, hindu mericans called by Red Card, only call given by someone other than YHC, standard mericans, and a bunch more.

As this was starting to get old YHC sent partners to opposite ends of the parking lot, jog to the other end of the lot and do 5 burpees, do till you’ve completed 20 each.

Gather back together for an LBC pyramid to 30 and back by 5’s, DONE!

COT:  Second count still revealed 16.  YHC reminded the pax of the scientist that wanted to know how long a rat would swim before it drowned, heard it in a sermon several years ago, here it is if your interested, I highly recommend it if you’ve ever thought, God what are you doing.  Announcement for Mule, signup if you’re in.  Exceptional prayer lifted to the throne of grace by Mr. Furley, and that was a wrap!

The Skin:

Great to have our brother Orwell back in the mix, he still cheats while running.  Duce complained a little but he had his head lamp for the darkness so we let him stay.  Red Card & Friar Tuck stayed up front in the running for YHC’s group, Hash-brown and I swept.  Yoda didn’t have much to say, likely because we were in opposite groups.  As many know, YHC hates running, and has been nursing a pulled muscle since before Christmas, every time it seems to get healed to a good point a post like this sends it for another loop, this was again the case.  YHC needed to layout for a morning and with Screech and his god forsaken hammers and tires at the Forge, Tuesday was a great lay day.  YHC has offered to purchase 3 hammers from said F3er in order to offset some of the investment and to finally be done with that ridiculous routine.  Great mix of young and old pax for the morning, the starfish set up was not intentional but always serves to keep the pax together, no matter how fast or for my case how slow of a runner you are.  Nothing wrong with a “high intensity” AO but make sure you’re looking out and keeping the group together.  Yoda has got to be 50 by now, but he’s a pastor so he can’t lie, can’t wait till that birthday Q of his.  As always, thanks for allowing me to lead, it sucked for me, and YHC heard a good amount of griping towards the end, embrace the suck!

CW out!
