Nice to feel mid-40s at HiFidelity again. With many long sleeves, there was nary an invisible shirt to be found. Seems like a perfect opportunity for Au Pair – he used to post to HiFidelity, right? Well, let’s jog to the track to see.
1-mile warm-up with a few perfunctory butt-kickers and high knees
Warm-up circle for Good Mornings x 16, Imperial Walkers x 16, Windmills x 16
Toe the line for 6 x 1 km. Start at Threshold pace (~1:00 – 1:15 / mi slower than Mile Race Pace). Each interval is to be 10 seconds faster than the previous. 2:00 rest between intervals.
What started off easy, grew to be quite difficult in the end. Eking out another 10 seconds on the 5th and 6th interval was “tougher than squeezing blood from a turnip” [insert Georgia drawl]… unless you are Ben Johnson, e-Trade, or Cinderella. Speed in those legs.
Good work this morning Gents. Fall race season is close at hand. Time to reap some gains from #brr and our speed work.
