Not much to say about this beautiful summer morning. It was a little humid and warm, but it is July so we should just suck it up and get on with it. And that’s what we did. The shovel flag was planted and at the appointed time ten Pax began their down-PAIN-ment for a Tuesday.
We looped our way over to Andy and Opie for warm ups with Side Shuffle Hops x 15, Imperial Walkers x 15, Good Mornings x 10, Crossover Imperial Walkers x 10, Mountain Climbers x 10, and Sir Fazio Arm Circles x 8 each way.
We started to feel the warmth so to get a breeze going we ran up the steps to one of the upper pavilions for three fun sets of Alternating Left/Right Step Ups x 10 and Decline Merkins (10, 8, 6)
There being no sign of the “other” workout group we decided to move on to the tennis courts for a couple sets of Line Jumps x 10, Carolina Dry Docks x 8, and a run around the courts (High Knees first run, Butt Kickers second time around).
A quick trip back down the hill led us to a spot by the fountainless pool for Plank-o-rama. High Plank x 8, Putin x 8, Sarkozy x 8, Chillcut x 8 and repeat.
A trip to the parking lot provided a nice space for a double helping of Karaoke and Hallelujahs x 8
Finally we made a short stumble over to the playground for two servings of Swing Set Incline Rows x 10, Decline Planks x 10, and Bird Dogs and Bird Dog Crunches x 5 each side.
From the swings we stepped over to the climbing towers so we could top off our morning with 6 MOM. We enjoyed our Hello Dolly x 10, Cross Body Crunch x 7 x 7, Flutter Kicks x 10, LBCs x 10, Peter Parkers x 10 and Russian Hammers x 10.
The Forge intentionally continues to be a place where guys who “need to get in shape to get in shape” can come and do a workout. We hope to push folks and make them sweat. We encourage the more fit members of the PAX to focus on form to help challenge them.
New Workouts begin soon: Check the website for more information on Wednesday and Saturday starts.
