The gauntlet was laid down Sunday afternoon. It was a big weekend. F3 PAX participated in the BRR, the Spartan Race, the Go Ruck, and/or the 9/11 Stair Climb. Ma Bell don’t care. Monday is a new day. 19 PAX answered the call. There was a lot of groaning going on. Even McCants, who normally runs to the AO, had to bike it in. YHC was wincing with every step down the stairs this morning. Curiously, Hot Spot, who ran the BRR (and was eagerly regaling everyone with BRR stories) seemed more concerned with his sunburn than his legs. Either way, only one way to get the old gears moving again, and that is to knock the rust off. We proceeded to not only knock the rust off, but beat it off like Burt’s grandmother in the old country beating a rug with a broom. Side note: BURT participated in none of the above activities and still wasn’t here. Maybe he’s still trying to get out of Bristol. Cheddar Bo came in on 2 wheels to unlock the gate but it was too late; we’re running in from here. Here we go.
Warm-Up
Jog into the first parking lot and down to the playground and circle up for:
- 25 x SSH
- 50 x Merkins
- 10 x Windmills
- 10 x Sir Fazio Arm Circles (forward and backward)
- 10 x Merkins IC (just because)
The Thang
Jog it on up and over to the top of power line hill in the grassy area by the path. Count off was 19. So much for my partner workout ideas. Omaha. So it’s football season and you boys know what that means dontcha? That’s right up/downs! Start choppin’ those feet boys and hit the ground when YHC yells DOWN! I shoulda brought my whistle. Ma Bell was in a foul mood due to the big egg laid by the Wolfpack Saturday down in Greenville. Somebody had to pay.
Jog down to the bottom of the hill, do 20 Dying Cockroaches OYO, then sprint back to the top of the hill. Make it count! Find some turf cause we’re doing more up/downs
– Repeato with 20 merkins at the bottom. When the PAX arrives, more up/downs
– Repeato with 20 LBCs and lunge walk back up the hill. More up/downs – and some J-LOs thrown in for good measure. Grease Monkey suggested Bull in the Ring. Don’t tempt me..
Jog back toward the front of the park to the rock pile. Get a substantial sized rock and circle up. Count off into 1s and 2s.
1s – Rock Curls AMRAP while 2s run around and through the first parking lot, then flap jack
– Repeato with Rock Presses
– Repeato with Rock Tricep Extensions
Mary
- 20 x Flutter Kicks with Rocks held in the air
- 15ish WWWII Rock Sit-Ups
- 20 x Rosalitas (no rock)
- 15 x American Rock Hammers
- 10 x Yogi-called and led Burpees IC. With 1 extra for the Corps. Ooh-rah!
Put your rocks back, boys. That’s it.

It was my high honor to lead you men this morning
Welcome back to Carpex semi-Kotters Largemouth and Callahan. Maybe Ollie will join us again soon
Welcome to Carpex, Yogi!
Over/under on how many weeks we’ll have to listen to Hot Spot regale us with his BRR stories?
Will they last as long as our stories about the Bull?
Are the BRR shirts as cool as the Bull shirts? Are they sleeveless?
Did Hot Spot throw in some band leader high knees during the night when no one was watching? Did he have the Michigan fight song on repeat on his iPod?
I keed, I keed! Poor Hot Spot
[Feel free to continue the NMS in the comments]
