The Thicket was a buzz this morning in anticipation of Duplo’s virgin Q. We all know it takes balls to do your first Q and that is what Duplo would use, basketballs that is. Of course curiosity tickled our tuffs as Duplo would have the PAX partner up and grab a round ball and follow the leader. 7 PAX pounded the pavement and got to work.

MAIN EVENT
Run down to Pollard Middle School  bus parking lot and basketball court. Partners would line up in the middle of the parking lot.
Drill #1:
Partners would sit feet touching doing sit ups and pass the basketball to one another on the up.

Drill #2:
Partner 1 would run to the end of parking lot and complete 3 burpees. The other partner would dribble the basketball down to the other end of the parking lot and make a layup, or in Yanni’s case making some sort of weird arm movement resulting in the ball eventually going through the basket, and then complete 3 burpees. Return to starting point and exchange the basketball and directions. Partners would keep doing this until each partner had scored 3 baskets. Ever the sportsman, Marky Mark voiced his concern about who won, and Yanni had to remind him that we didn’t keep score here. That wasn’t because MM’s team won. Ok it was.

Drill #3:
This drill involved balance, core strength, arm strength, timing, coordination, and something No’ Money would call being amphibious but you may know it as being ambidextrous. Partner one would do jump squats with a floor slap(many boo’s and hisses over the origin of the floor slap), while the other partner would complete merkins with one hand on the ground and one hand on the basketball. Switch up and repeat. Switch up and switch hands, repeat. The last set of merkins involved rolling the ball back and forth between hands. This proved to be very difficult and one would need to be very amphibious to do this.

Drill #4:
Partners would line up at the end of the parking lot. One partner would dribble down and make a layup while the other partner would complete squats. Pass the ball off to the other partner and repeat until the team made 10 baskets. This time Yanni would make a concerted effort to beat MM and Marshawn, but again to no avail.

Check the time. Time to run through the 4 drills one more time. Time was up and we ran back to home base with a sprint up the hill to the new construction.
