YHC had signed up to Q Danger Zone a while ago for anniversary week, even though it wasn’t on my anniversary day, and wasn’t my FNG AO. When the A-Team Q opened up unexpectedly, I jumped on it, seeing as it was my FNG site. So it was a good week, bookended Q’s and a GRT beatdown from Pergo in the middle.
Including YHC, 14 PAX shook off the cold and damp and did some work this Friday morning.
Warm-up:
- Lap around parking lot. Lap and a half, actually. Because reasons.
- 10 Burpees OYO (Welcome Callahan!)
- SSH x20; GM x10; IW x20; 20x MC; 15x LMJJ all IC
Thang:
- Partner up. One partner works on completing exercises while the other runs a parking lot lap. Work together to get 100x merkins, 200x squats, 300x LBCs. Plank when done. Someone will call it, I promise. #freedtolead
- At this point the flag was beckoning under the street lamp, like a shining beacon of hope. That called for a lunge walk half way there, bear crawl the rest, then recover on the jog to complete the parking lot loop.
- Head to picnic shelter for the last item I didn’t finish up on Monday’s CoS (read all about it here):
- Pyramid, starting 5 reps each, then 10, 15, 20 and back down:
- Box jump, irkin, derkin
- This was popular.
- Recover on the jog to the basketball courts, find your partner again
- Partner 1, backwards run to between the courts, run back, backwards full length and back, while partner 2 does People’s Chair.
- Partner 1 does standard suicide (4 trips out/back) while partner 2 does BTTW.
Mary:
- Freddie Mercury x30
- WWII x20
- American Hammer x40 (also quite popular)
- Blue Hen called Crab Cakes, which was new to us. Start in a crab walk position, then touch you right hand to your left heel (going above your body), back to ground, left hand/right heel, back to ground (4-count). 20 of those and we were good.
Announcements: Mule, Bull, Phoenix.
Prayer requests: Mule, Bull, Phoenix =) YHC took us out. Thanks for a great first year.
NMS:
- Ollie with the EC plus Mule tomorrow.. #MeanMeanStride
- Don’t make me bust out the 3/4-length tights.
- Welcome Gwizz to Danger Zone. Not an FNG but close. (Well, he’s friendly – just not first-post-new.)
- Thank Michelob for the picnic table pyramid. That was awful.
- Acutally his was worse, 10-20-30-20-10, Box jump / Derkin / LBC. Next time.
- Just typing that makes my arms sore.
- Yeah, the second partner to do BTTW got the short end of that deal. Runners sometimes put their arms over their heads at the end of a race to breathe easier, but they’re not usually inverted.
- Let’s see if us non-Mule’ers can set another Crick record tomorrow.
