YHC shouted out DZ was a go regardless of snow and ice conditions. Modifications can be met regardless of circumstances.
9 pax posted for a beautiful morning of light falling snow. Last week, there were 13, YHC called out 2 penalty burpees for each of the 4 missing pax.
With that out of the way, we headed off to the hill at the Railinc Bldg on Norwell and Weston with stops on the way for rail Irkens, SSH, and mountain climbers. At Weston line up for more rail Irkens and circle up for squat hold while YHC opined about SUCCESS. YHC had a rare moment of reflection this week. See, YHC came across the etimology of SUCCESS this week and found its original meaning much different than his understood meaning.
-
mid 16th century: from Latin successus, from the verb succedere ‘come close after’
-
1530s, “result, outcome,” from Latin successus “an advance, a coming up; a good result, happy outcome,” noun use of past participle of succedere “come after” (see succeed). Meaning “accomplishment of desired end” (good success) first recorded 1580s.
With lots of reflection on SUCCESS, “one step after another”, “come close after”, “advance”, “a good result”; YHC had the inclination to believe that SUCCESS would be meaningful to today’s workout. It was YHC’s prerogative to omit the “Happy Outcome”.
Head to bottom of hill at RailInc for some group work moving to top of hill, gather at the top, return and repeat:

4. Alternating lunge walk and crab walk to top
5. AYG backwards run to top.
6. AYG run to top
7. Alternating crawl bear, burpee broad jump to the top.
8. Recover, follow me.
At top we rotated between squat hold and side lunge pulses L and R
Head back with stops on the way for Good AM, squat hold, and rail irkens. At bottom of last hill, “Billy Run” was called out with Largemouth taking a commanding lead and Ollie on his heels.
No time for Mary so we circled up for COT in BOM.

Prayer concerns for Burt’s Aunt and Hotspots 99 year old grandmother.
YHC took us out in prayer.
Naked Moleskin:
1. Jimmer earned the Wooden award again today and saved the Pax from 2 burpees.
2. Hotspot was not a skin irritation, nightclub, or place of international conflict. He was just ready to be the Bright Spot. Not necessary.
3. There are reasons this workout is for men only. It gives us [Burt] the freedom to speak a clear mind, especially regarding his bad choice in hand protection.
4. There were moments of concern for Callahan and his morning sickness.
5. Yes, Bartman does have 4 sets of quads.
6. Wet, wet, wet hands and frozen fingertips. Is the Bull really necessary?
7. “Recover, Follow me” was the #F3SoapboxAward runner-up.
8. “No time for Mary” won the #F3SoapboxAward. PAX were sufficiently frozen, crawling on the ground would be unnecessary and detrimental to YHC’s health.
9. SUCCESS was had by all.
Prayer: As we think about Success
God, help us to follow your will.
Grant us the strength to pursue your goals.
Give us the courage to continue your journey,
May we always give you our all with Grace.
