Ah, the luxuries of the first world: 3 Kettlebells for every two PAX. This morning’s Blitz was simple, consisting of only two exercises.
Disclaimer given, Pax warmed up (SSH, Prisoner Squats, Hamstring Stretch, Trunk Twist) we jumped right in:
The Thang:
With a partner*
- 400 Two handed KB Swings
- 100 Man makers – (a push up on two KBs, renegade row, push up, renegade row, jump-to-feet, clean-and-press both bells overhead. Repeat 99 times)
- *There was one group of three, who also performed many, many Hindu Merkins . . . because as they say, in life you can never do too many Hindu Merkins.
Mary:
- Side plank, KB extended – 10 count by all 13 PAX
- Repeat, other side.
Announcements & Prayers
Naked Moleskin.
When YHC called this very straight forward workout, crickets were the only thing that could be heard for miles, until a couple of the PAX asked (disbelieving) to confirm the number of KB swings. As it turned out, the swings were the easy part, one of the PAX called them the “rest period” – most groups blew through 400 easily. Manmakers are just brutal.
At coffeteria, Cinderella asked “When you were thinking of this, at any point did you say ‘maybe this is too much'”? YHC, “No.” Cinderella, “That was the hardest workout I have ever done.” The workout was hard, although it should be noted, Cinderella wore a weight vest and shared (with Invisible Shirt) two 45lb KBs for the manmakers. T-Claps.
The workout was hard. Simple, but hard. Everyone pushed themselves, modified exercises when necessary or prudent, and put in a great, great morning.
The PAX were an inspiration this morning. Many, many T-Claps.
Gratefully, Cut Me MIck
