I answered the call on Thursday from Friar Tuck to sub in at Catalyst. I am not good at thinking quickly on my feet in order to come up with something original for why I couldn’t. I was sore from DJ Gnard’s musical kettlebell get-together at #Blitz the previous day but I didn’t think that would be a manly excuse. I mean, how hard is it to say, “my kid has a thing” or “I’ve got a thing at my in-laws” or “the M is ovulating” etc? I guess it’s just too hard to lie to the guy. But I like Catalyst. I think if I show up enough I might have some clout to wrangle Azul and push through the 70s Hulk-tossing-bear screengrab image on an official F3Catalyst shirt. Anyway, I accepted but I felt bad for those that saw Orwell on the Q schedule and came to Catalyst expecting a circuit of incline/decline nap repeats (hey man, I kid ya because I luv ya)
Here’s what happened to the best of my recollection as my ‘script’ only offered minimal help.
Lap from parking lot around to front of school to Northbrook and hang a right. At end of cul-de-sac/woods re-enter school grounds between fence and woods. Cross-country and then descend poison ivy ramp to basketball court for warm-up

Rock pile, select rock and carry up the stairs. We notice women in bright outfits, water bottles, and mats arriving and commandeering Carroll’s “Balls to Wall Alley.” Hmmm, this might throw a monkeywrench into my plan but we move on to the adjacent parking lot and select a line that we will call home for a bit.
Series of Paint the Line…Kind of
1.Bear crawl length of parking line to curb, backward bear crawl back then 1 Rock Burpee (push up and jump up performed w/ rock)
Repeat with 2 Burpee, etc to 5
2.Moving log jump (feet together, hop over line, left/right etc) to curb, backward moving log jump back then 1 Double Merkin Rock Burpee
Repeat 4 more times
3.Bear crawl to curb, backward bear crawl back then 1 One-legged Rock Burpee
Repeat 4 more times (alternating legs)
4.Moving log jump to curb, backward moving log jump back then Curl x5
Repeat twice with ascending curl x10, x15
5.Bear crawl to curb, backward bear crawl back then Overhead Press x5
Repeat twice with ascending press x10, x15
6.Moving log jump to curb, backward moving log jump back then Bent-over Row x5
Repeat twice with ascending row x10, x15
7.Lunge walk (w/ rock) to curb, backward lunge walk back then Rock Squat x5
Repeat twice with ascending squat x10, x15
Place rocks on curb for time being in case more ladies show up and need the parking space.
Trot through dumpster area and to the front of school, stairs to courtyard-looking area and to larger set of stairs back to parking lot.
Bear Crawl down those stairs
Split up in two groups at the ~4.5 ft wall.
Gr1= curb group, Gr2= wall group
Gr1 quick feet oyo, amrap
Gr2 jumps up and over wall and performs 5 irkins on the wall/grassy knoll. Jumps down and repeats 2x w/ ascending irks x10, x15

Trot back to pick up rocks to return them to their proper place and decide to check out the status of BTTW Alley. Hey looks pretty good, only a handful there at the moment. Some of the women must be running stairs or fixing their hair/lipstick so we grab about 25 ft or so of the wall and show off.
