Very poetic to end where it all began I guess.  Wasn’t intentional but that’s how it ended up!

A dirty dozen 12-PAX were there on a wet and unseasonably warm December morning.  I figured for my 30th Q of the year (31 if you count my random Phoenix Q I picked up on the spot…and haven’t written the BB for yet…oops) I’d have us do a bunch of dumb stuff that added up to 30.

So that’s what we did!

11 PAX, no Site Qs but shovel flag planted, and no Callahan took off in the opposite direction of the 5AM acherer practicing on the basketball courts (say what!??).

We headed north to the big boy lot for some big boy laps.  But first, we warm up.

Warm Up

  • 10 Good Mornings
  • 15 Hill Billies
  • 20 SSH 5 Good Mornings (my mind was totally scattered this morning.  stomach issues trying to hold things together so not to bail on the 30 mark…)
  • 20 SSHs
  • 10 Slow-Standard-Merkin-on-my-down-no-in-cadence-ready-starting-postion-move-whatevers
  • (brain slowly coming to.)

The Thang

  • Run a lap around the big boy parking lot
  • Run another lap bear crawling between each median.  About 18 bear crawls. Bear Crawldio I call it…
  • Don’t Repeato
  • Run to top maintanance road
  • 1s and 2s where 1s run and do 20 reps at bottom 10 at top, 2s to 20 at top 10 at bottom…meet back at top of hill. (30 reps…)
  • Exercises were:  Merkins, Lunges, CDDs, Squats, Star Jumps
  • Run to basketball courts (no acherer)
  • BLIMPS inspired suicides:  Sprint half court / full court / Do 5 reps
  • Burpees x 5
  • Lunges x 5 (L/R=1)
  • Imperial Walkers x 5 (L/R=1)
  • Merkins x 5
  • Plank Jacks x 5 (4-count)
  • Squats x 5
  • = 30 Reps.
  • 2 groups of running 4 halfcourt sprints then 2 full court sprints

All done!

NMS

  • Bear Crawldio will be back.  I didn’t hate it quite enough.  It was tough but a good cardio push.
  • Callahan joined us late at some point.  It was pretty shocking he found us.  He was literally about 2 minutes from running up to the top lot looking for us and showing up even later!!
  • Perfect weather this morning minus the soggy ground.  Upper 40s low 50s is F3 Perfection!
  • New goal for 2017 will be 20 Qs and 20 Co-Qs or 20 VQ referrals!  Look out for me and some other guys getting on you longtime “new” guys.
  • If you want to grow, get uncomfortable.  That’s when you will see change.  Just like physically you get stronger when you get uncomfortable the same happens for growth in other areas.  I’m sure I don’t have the only story like this but my first Q I was a wreck on the drive there.  I don’t like talking in front of groups, I get super nervous.  The whole way there I had nervous shakes and I think I gagged a couple times.  I do that when I’m EXTRA nervous.  #truestory
  • I grew from that experience.  I hated it at the time but I am better for it now!
  • Now I would Q every day I show up.  I love it!  And if you’re most nervous about the end doing COT and prayer just give one of us a heads up ahead of time and we’ll step in and volunteer to “take us out”.  #WeGotYourBack
