Greetings and fist bumps were given as PAX arrived. Gutterball and Double D were welcomed from F3SouthWake. And then Flop arrived. With a trunkful of Gatorade Whey Protein bars. For Free. (just enjoyed a Chocolate Chip while writing the BB – thanks Flop!)

At this point YHC called for everyone to grab a coupon and mosey to the large lot only to be informed that our coupons had vanished. Rumor had it that they may be behind the batting cage, so we took a long mosey in search, but came up empty… modify as needed… curls will now be LBCs!

The Thang
9 cones were set up in the large parking lot. 1 in the center and 8 forming a rectangle around it. PAX divided into to groups and proceeded as follows:

Round 1: Run to first cone, perform 10 of the exercise listed, run back to center cone, perform 1 burpee, and proceed to next cone going COUNTER-clockwise (thanks OneCall).

*Somewhere towards the end of Round 1 Flyover came in hot and joined in on the fun*

Round 2: High-knee to first cone, perform 20 of the exercise listed, high-knee back to center cone, perform 2 burpees, and proceed to next cone.
Round 3: Buttkickers to first cone, perform 30 of the exercise listed, buttkickers back to center cone, perform 3 burpees, and proceed to next cone
Round 4: Backwards run to first cone, perform 20 of the exercise listed, backwards run back to center cone, perform 2 burpee, and proceed to next cone

Excercises at the 8 cones were: LBCs (instead of curls), Merkins, Jump Squats, Diamond Merkins, BBSUs, Wide Arm Merkins, Calf Raises, and SSHs.

At 0608 YHC called time as the majority of the PAX were converging on the center cone. Everyone finished their final burpees and then YHC called for 7 more burpees to get the group just finishing Round 3 a total of 55 for the day for the Burpee Challenge.

As most PAX did not reach Round 4, a backwards mosey back to the virtual shovel flag was called.

YHC shared the message from church this past Sunday, which revolved around Spoiler Alerts and which was perfectly timed (amazing how that always seems to happen) in the wake of Cheech’s passing a few days prior. We all say we hate spoilers – hearing the ending of a movie, knowing a score before we can watch a game. But, studies have shown that having the ending spoiled actually leads to enjoying the event more. If your team is playing poorly and is down 10 at the half there’s no need to stress if you already know they won. Enjoy the ride – the hills and valleys – and rest assured in the outcome. Romans 8:28 provides us with an ultimate spoiler alert.
