With summer break finally started and the Country Wide Shuttle Service to Lowden street closed, the mornings seem a little more relaxed.  YHC made his usual stop in route to the AO, and the one request from the clown in the car was, don’t run too much.  Oswald, I mean Orwell knows as well as anyone, YHC has absolutely no idea what the morning would hold, but thanks for the idea.  Here’s how it went.

The Thang: Jog one lot over and circle up for some warm-ups.  GM, SSH, SFAC f&r, BC, 10 Burpee’s OYO. Count off and remember if your odd or even, 29 total, a light crowd for UJ.

Mosey over to Lassiter and Currituck light, not sure where we would end up but we headed down Currituck, YHC thought about heading up Rowan but several pax encouraged YHC to continue on.  And its a good thing we did, once at the intersection of Macon while waiting for the pax to tighten back up, YHC recruited an fng who seemed to just be getting started on some morning exercise. After a brief round of flutter kicks, we continued on up Currituck where we had a quick cameo by none other than Burgundy himself, who some said was moving a kettle bell from one side of his porch to the other.

Continue on to North Hills Park and circle up at the back of the front lot for some more work as we tightened back up once more.  Cary on around to the top of what Peach Pit aptly renamed Syphilis, make you way to the bottom and find a rock.

First exercise; Hot Car Baby Inside with Helmet, aka hammers with your rock, see Horse Hair’s PSA in COT for explination.  Rock chest press, and repeat, put rocks back and head back up Syphilis.  Another COP at top as pax is gathered together yet again. Head back towards the jungle the same way we came, this time stopping in Burgundy’s yard for our first regathering on the way home, no Burgundy this time.  YHC did note that our fng was not in the back, as a matter of fact he was in the front pack.  Continue the trip back to the UJ stopping twice more on the way to keep the group together.

Final COP was something, something, and 10 Burpee’s OYO.  DONE!

30 PAX now present, welcome fng Tighty Whities, a 52 year old banker wo was headed out for a run when we found him.  Horse Hair informed us that with the weather getting hot we may want to remind our nannies that it’s not a good idea to leave infants with helmets and heart conditions in the car with the engine running and the windows cracked while they go shopping in the mall for an hour or so.  Not only is it not good for the infant, but your nannie could be arrested too. YHC reminded the pax of our Thursday morning study meeting at Chick-fil-a North Hills 7am where we will go through Tim Keller’s “The Prodigal God” .  Mayhem took us out in a mighty word of praise, thanksgiving, and supplication to the Creator Himself! That’s a wrap.

The Skin:  YHC was on Orwell, having seen one of the participants from the Arena the previous Saturday while at cofetetia, said pax told Orwell he reminded him of Oswald, an octopus cartoon character from his not so distant youth, YHC is not able to let this go quite yet.  Running sucks, embrace the suck!  First time I can remember picking up an fng mid workout, he was a good sport, turn out he is a runner, similar to adding another attorney to our roster, fits right in.  Duce and Oswald let me know numerous times their dissatisfaction with YHC’s decision to run.  One pax told YHC we clocked in at around 3.4 miles, didn’t seem quite that long.  YHC is coming up on 3 years in the f3 mix, where does the time go.  Leading is a privilege and an honor.

CW out.
